Dudeing around...

He is hardly exhibiting "world class PTSD". He simply wants to see this team win... I dunno... maybe just one game prior to going off the deep end with HARBAUGH fever. I like the guy too, but you come across as ridiculous when you say things like "Just say HARBAUGH and everything will be fine". Have you watched the last decade of Michigan football? We have been embarrassingly overhyped many times. I think it is more than fair to be a bit skeptical.

sure it doesn't hurt with recruiting. I know there is a large alumni base throughout the country, but I don't understand how sending this bus around is really helping Fox promote this game to any great extent. I would doubt that very many people are going to watch simply because of the bus and these guys dressed like Harbaugh.

Regardless, it brings more attention to Michigan and Harbaugh and I go back to it can't hurt with recruiting. I agree with you. This is weird.

When they had the article last week about the bus visiting AA and then Detroit. I thought it to be weird. If this is what everyone in the bus is dressed as, that's even weirder. It totally helps with exposing our brand to more people, so in the end it will help with recruiting. I just don't get it. I don't care about Utah or how they feel about this, but I don't think this promotes next weeks game simply because I don't see the other team getting similar treatment. I think this is Fox being caught up in the Harbaugh hype, which is fine by me! Still weird though.

I'm not sure what these links are.  But the first one seems like it is trying to send me to a public broadcast station, and the second one... I have no idea, but will guess it's a Thai-based pornographic photo exchange.

Who gives a shit? Any other fanbase would love to have a bus decorated for their school driving around the country. Recruits see it. Sparty fans and Buckeyes hate it. Why are we complaining about this again?

I don't see as much complaining as I see confusion. I think it's awesome and exposes our coach and brand and is great for recruiting. I don't think anyone would deny that, even the people that are truly complaining. I'm just confused on how this promotes next weeks game. I mean is FOX on our side? Is that what they're saying? Just confusing is all. Otherwise this is sweeeet!

Edit: Yeah I don't get the complaining about how wins need to happen first. This is great publicity for our team. I wish I could've joined them on the tour.

They are Michigan students hired by FoxSports1 to ride around the country in the Harbus and make appearances to promote FS1s first college football game of the year - M at Utah. If this were an athletic department stunt, I could understand being annoyed by it, but it's not. I don't see a problem with FS1 building hype for our program.

If you were FoxSports1, what else would you do?

You have to promote a Thursday night game featuring a mid P5 team that a lot of people east of the rockies don't know much about vs. a team that was 5-7 last year and has not been relevant for seven years.  What would you do?

You'd look for some kind of angle - any kind - that could spark some national interest:

FS1 Marketing guy #1:  "How about Joe Pesci saying 'Youts' a bunch of times."

FS1 Marketing guy #2:  "Nah, too played out.  Utes.  Youts.  We get it already."

FS1 Marketing guy #1:  "How about the Michigan mascot getting into a fight with an actor dressed as the Mormon founder Joseph Smith?"

FS1 Marketing guy #2:  "No way.  That would be just too bizarre and offensive.  Michigan does not have a mascot."

FS1 Marketing guy #1:  "I got nothing."

FS1 Marketing guy #2:  "Me neither."

Secretary:  "Hey, I know . . . how about featuring something on Jim Harbaugh, one of the winningest coaches in the NFL who left the league in an unprecedented move to go back to college, and who has been a rock star across the entire globe since?"

FS1 Marketing guy #1:  "That just might work."

FS1 Marketing guy #2:  "Does he have any unique or unusual mannerisms that we could play up?"

Secretary:  "Grab some coffee.  We could be here a while."

I suppose I will say this as I happen to agree with a few folks upthread - this doesn't bother me and I really don't see how stretching the nearly instant goodwill that Harbaugh brings to the Michigan football program really hurts. It probably helps by keeping it at the forefront, simply in a different manner and an admittedly offbeat one. I agree with people that the wins need to come next, but there is never harm in ushering in a new era with someone of Jim Harbaugh's stature involved in this manner - especially in this time and place at Michigan, IMHO.

Video of the Harbus in action:

Cute, but it needs an M hat.

The playcard stuffed in the pants and the giant sharpie are a nice touch though.

Someone at Fox Sports deserves a significant raise for coming up with this idea. I love the khaki on the bus. Love the whole thing. It's like they said, Jim Harbaugh trolled the off-season. Let's keep trolling! And anyone who doesn't think the wins will come hasn't been paying attention to Jim Harbaugh's record. Go Harbros, and go blue!
