Harbaugh on Rich Eisen Show @ 10:30am mountain
Coach Harbaugh will be on the Rich Eisen show at 10:30am mountain.
You can listen live at http://www.richeisenshow.com/
Rich appears very excited about the interview
January 8th, 2015 at 12:20 PM ^
It might be more helpful to specify that it's 12:30 Eastern. Not too many people live in the Mountain time zone.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:26 PM ^
EST is God's time zone. None of that pagan MST here.

here in the MT Zone. I think it's up near Jackson Hole.

What are places that sound like porn movies, Alex.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:32 PM ^
The first game of the Harbaugh Era at Michigan will take place in the Mountain Time Zone.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:35 PM ^
Good point, so we should all eschew the EST once and for all and convert to MST!
January 8th, 2015 at 12:26 PM ^
My ongoing battle against the tyranny of the eastern time zone. It won't matter and someone I work with will schedule yet another 8:00am eastern conference call where all east coasters are all happy and awake.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:36 PM ^
I don't know many people on the east coast who are happy and awake at 8 EST either.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:36 PM ^
what's the deal with this? Are people just unable to comprehend that there are people on their team that live in different time zones? Is it really that hard to comprehend? Who schedules meetings at 8AM anyway?
I'm currently working for a company that is HQed in PST and it makes things so much easier. When they want to schedule early morning conference calls it no longer bothers me.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:30 PM ^
Mountain time is superior. None of that sissy Daylight Savings crap.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:41 PM ^
The Mountain time zone doesn't observe DST?
January 8th, 2015 at 12:47 PM ^
Yes, it does. Certain states don't - Arizona, for instance, lives in the Pacific time zone while the country is observing DST and shifts to the Mountain time zone when y'all "Fall Back".

here it comes

On in 60 seconds...
January 8th, 2015 at 12:41 PM ^
...that's 3:30 AM if you're in Brisbane.

For those who use UTC, I believe the interview in fact began at 5:30 PM or thereabouts. This will be of particular interests to those MGoBloggers who currently reside between 7.5 degrees east and 7.5 degrees west longitude.

Go Blue!
Edit: I searched DirectTV and found it on channel 239. I just watched the segment and it was cool to see how excited Rich Eisen is for Michigan football and how much a fan of his school he still is. Crazy to think he was a freshman and his first on campus QB was JH!

Starts off with "Go Blue Rich!"
January 8th, 2015 at 12:33 PM ^
I've got to represent MST. Having lived in New York the rest of my life, moving to Utah this past year opened my eyes to East Coast bias. It's real, man.
January 8th, 2015 at 1:00 PM ^
Although living in Mountain timezone generally sucks, it's the best timezone for viewing live sports. CFB at 10AM on Saturdays, NFL at 11AM. Sunday Night Football ends at about 9, so there's still time to catch a late dinner.
January 8th, 2015 at 1:35 PM ^
That's a good point. I like the evening games getting done early but my wife - who loves football - doesn't appreciate me waking her up at 10 a.m. on Saturdays for Michigan games. She was all about noon kickoffs.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:34 PM ^
Last time JH was in the Big House for a game was the NFL Strike in 1987?!?! That's crazy
January 8th, 2015 at 12:49 PM ^
I don't think that is accurate. I have a picture with him from a game in 91 at the Big House. Still a long time ago, but it wasn't 87.
January 8th, 2015 at 2:21 PM ^
The whole interview sounded like he wasn't making stuff up on the fly.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:34 PM ^
"I wanna hit somebody right now Jim!"
Harbaugh: "Me too!"
I am giddy.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:34 PM ^
That's great! For those who need it, that's 11:30 PM in the Bhutan Time Zone.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:37 PM ^
This is painful.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:39 PM ^
Not a Pros and Cons list for him to come to Michigan. It was a DREAM! Cannot wait to see this team in action.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:39 PM ^
"The decision was from the heart. This is where I wanted to be."
-Jim Harbaugh
"His heart is in the NFL."
-Adam Schefter

I love Rich Eisen just drooling over Harbaugh. Finally, a major media outlet who loves Michigan. You can't teach heart!
January 8th, 2015 at 12:41 PM ^
He may have been a couple of years later but I wonder if Eisen covered Harbaugh when he wrote for the Daily. From the quote it sounds like Harbaugh knows Eisen is a Wolverine.
January 8th, 2015 at 12:42 PM ^
Well there's your answer
January 8th, 2015 at 12:45 PM ^
I know Eisen covered football but don't know if he covered the team in 85 or 86
January 8th, 2015 at 12:42 PM ^
+1 for mountain time
January 8th, 2015 at 12:42 PM ^
Harbaugh puttin them to work. As I know some players read this blog, go get'em boys, work your buns off soak up the brilliance that is JH. You guys are taking us to the next level. Goold luck fellas
Hail to the victors!

"We're averse to talking about a lot of things... We'd rather be about it than talk about it."

"I'm going to be rooting for Ohio State."

He's providing no trashy bulletin board material.

So, Mary Sue, were you drunk during that halftime speech vs. Nebraska in 2013? I'm saying, "Yes."

Will always get a +1 from me.
January 8th, 2015 at 5:37 PM ^
LOL @ did you have a great experience at the University of Michigan, Rich? I can hear it in your voice
January 8th, 2015 at 12:44 PM ^
- Last time in the Big House: 1987 (NFL strike year)
- Did not hear the outcry from fans for him to come back to Michigan while he was still coaching: "Head down in the bunker"
- Did get some texts from friends
- Dreamed about coaching at Michigan since he was 9 yrs old
- No pros and cons list, just a dream
- DJ Durkin officially announced; coaching staff coming together great
- Eisen: "What to expect right away?" --> "Hope for expectations, work at it. Expectations will be high. Team running/condiitioning started. Lifting starts tomorrow"
- Eisen "Adverse to starting freshman QB?" -->"We're adverse to talking about things, we want to do things."
- Eisen "Do I root for Ohio State?" --> "I'm going to be rooting for Ohio State. I'm a Midwesterner. For BigTen football"
January 8th, 2015 at 1:29 PM ^
Very good, nice and succint. I really feel like JH is really excited about what he has in the cupboard (players) and that his staff is turning out how he generally wanted it to. In his press conference and other interviews/guest apperances I believe he has been very vague because he wants his team to focus on the changes being made. He does not want his players to focus on his public expectations.
I think that he is literally starting from the foundation and for that to occur he knows how to play the media hype game. With media/social media info so readily available he knows he can not expect that his players wont watch what he says publicly. So in tempering those national expectations he can pull in house fixin and inspiring!
Go Blue!

I knew he was going to say that he was pulling for OSU. But, for them to win, it would be good for B1G.
Especially when we start beating them
January 8th, 2015 at 12:45 PM ^
Finally something I can't agree with Harbaugh with
