I'm still impressed that the CSG election came down to 5 votes... talk about every vote mattering.. Yikes.

An imaginary Harbaugh running the CSG would probably be completely unnoticed by campus. CSG doesn't actually do anything

As an incoming Freshman for next fall, I must ask any alums/students? Do CSG do anything whatsoever? Reading that Daily article gives me the impression that it is a huge joke.

but in my four years there, I honestly never felt like the CSG actually made any impact on my life (positive or negative). Usually it was resolutions and junk. I think voter turnout for those things is single digits

For the most part it is a huge joke. However, I guess last year they worked with Brandon to fix student seating... (Dumb GA policy would've changed anyway).
Usually it just ends up being a title for resumes for the students and sometimes the epicenter of the pro-Israel/Zionists vs pro-BDS/Palestinians circle jerk.
The most I've interacted with CSG is just for funding purposes for my student organizations on campus. That is probably the furthest extent to which people outside of CSG probably interact with CSG...
They did approve Hail and Unite, so that should tell you everything you need to know about CSG.
Looks like they are dying a fiery death on their own. Only $2500 raised of their very modest goal of $65K. Nice work fellas!
Whatever they do or do not do, when the regents or the media want to obtain "official" student input, CSG may be where they'd naturally turn. They are the popularly-elected representatives for the student body, and therefore they may be expected to speak for you and your concerns.
They are a disaster and considered a joke to anyone who follows them. However, every student is required to pay part of their tuition to CSG, so they have BOATLOADS of money to work with, which is why they are significant.
Well, it's a nice introduction to parliamentary procedure... that's about it.
If my time at Michigan was indicative of anything, he may actually be better than any of the CSG people begging for our votes. Hell, a friend of mine almost gamed the system for the Maize Rage party one year, being that he had already graduated, and no one noticed until the 11th hour...
Really, CSG is the biggest crock ever.
There's M Racing and then everyone else. Resume padding express.
Dammit, here I thought Harbaugh was invincible and shit. So much for my dream of him going undefeated for 7 straight years
