Yeah, I can't see how you guys let Tressel anywhere near this thing despite being a damn good coach.

If someone had held a camp that Carr could have attended when he was 7-1 or whatever it was vs. Cooper I would have been highly annoyed.

True Bernie story.  Back in 2004 I got invited to meet then President George Bush at a private party held by a local guy (Fedeli) to raise money for the party.  Now, I dont care what your politics are if you are meeting the POTUS you dress and act appropriately so I and about 49 other people had suits on.  Not Bernie.

He showed up in jeans, old sneakers and a ratty sports coat with those patches on the elbows that went out of style before I left college in 81.  And he had a few too many cocktails too so needless to say he stood out in a way you really do NOT want to given the audience.

What was amazing to me as well was Bernie wasnt real nice to talk to either.  He had a major "celebrity" attitude which was equally out of place given the setting and he wouldnt talk to anybody.   So I might be the only hard-core Browns fan who doesnt have a real high opinion of Mr Kosar.

I wish I had saved the one he did a while back about going to the Rose Bowl.  It was a work of art.

I do enjoy his posts though.  And he has a nice boat.  Although he hasn't invited me out on it.

From my perspective and the perception presented in many articles, these camps have been portrayed as solely as a partnership with the local school (High School or College) with UM as the sole external college providing camp support.  I get that we aren't in "control", but getting other schools involved wasn't the original way it was presented.

Exposure U. was a reaction to this perception - allowing other colleges the opportunity to participate in a camp that we DO control.

For example:

Jim Harbaugh adds another satellite camp stop, this time in Ohio

We don't "control" it - but the perception is that we have a BIG say in what happens at these events; hence, a decision was made to allow other schools to be involved.

Big picture...Harbaugh is the godfather of this so no matter who else shows up...he will get top billing by the schools involved. He is also playing a role that is bigger than any one University including UM...it's for the game. Of course, it's for recruiting but if these camps are going to continue it has to at least appear to be about the athletes first ('teaching and promoting the game') and the schools second.

Stuck in Ohio

I live in greater Youngstown (Boardman) during the week. I just may need to put on my MAIZE (not highlighter yellow) and Blue golf shirt and stop by the practice field.

I attend the kickoff event for this camp every year.. This year it's on the 28th... It's a GREAT time seeing all of these coaches/former players/celebrities at the same place interacting (drinking) with all of those in attendance... Will certain,y have my Maize&Blue on this year.. More than likely will have pics/stories to share with all... Go Blue
