Happy Thanksgiving to Michigan Football and all of you...

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Happy Thanksgiving to our team.  May they find things to celebrate and be thankful for, even in the midst of the circus that has enveloped them since the last day of being 5-0.  I hope they spend tomorrow eating good food with family, not "eating the poison" in the media around them.

I'm thankful for everything I've been blessed with, I feel very lucky.

In terms of our team, I'm thankful for:  7 wins and the significance of putting one foot in front of the other, getting to where they're going;  the certainty that regardless of what recruits we get, and which coach is in charge, our D will improve next year;  that none of us are in charge of those types of decisions (i.e. thankful for DB);  the fact we've escaped any traumatic injuries (like the Rutgers kid);  the fact that the FBI, and NCAA aren't breathing down our necks because we're a consistently "rotten to the core" program;  Brock Mealer, his ability to walk, and his being unafraid to thank God for it;  and lastly, despite the multiple fits of rage and minor heart attacks, the joys/excitement of this season, from DR's dilithiumness to the  one D stop that mattered (2 pt conv vs Ill).

Thanks to all of you too, for making this small football-obsessed part of my life more enjoyable.

God Bless and be safe traveling.

1.  Thanks to Denard for capturing the excitement of an entire fanbase and remind those that forgot how exciting Michigan football can be.

2.  Thanks to RR for dealing with all of the controversy surrounding the program with such grace and dignity.  Many coaches would have had press conference or sideline (Bo Pelini) meltdowns, but RR has handled nhimself with class.

3.  Thanks to DB for sending out his tweet earlier today to quell the rumors.  How many ADs would do that?

4.  Thanks to Charles Woodson.  No reason.  Just because.

5.  Thanks to Tate for being a team player, staying ready on the sidelines to come in on a moments notice time and again.  I know he took some crap earlier in the season, but I am thankful to have what is probably the best back-up QB in college FB.

EDIT:  6.  Thanks to Brian for maintaining this site for all of us Michigan-obsessed fans.

Mgoblog for making my life easier, by finding every thing important with the university (especially football) and putting it in to a website.

Denard because he's amazing.

and finally thanks to whoever for making OSU fans so incompetent that it's actually very funny.

1) Echo the sentiments about Brock

2) Brandon Graham - pure class, intensity, and hard work.  How we would all like our own sons to end up

3) Echo the sentiments about Denard - Growing as a player and a leader by leaps and bounds every day.  Please, please, please let's not do anything that would derail this

4) For a coaching staff that would do the truly good things required to enable 1-3

5) For MGoBlog - my oasis from the struggle that is Michigan Sports

This is a great topic.  Thanks to the OP.

Im am thankful that at the beginning of the year just about every prediction read michigan would be 7-5, or 8-4.  8-4 was the highest i read from any publication that actually follows michigan football.  We are now at our 7 win mark, but will we reach 8 or 9?

We have slowly made progress, yes winning 7 games is progress, i know some people here don't want to believe it, but as long as we continue to win more every year ill be thankful for that again and again.

To all the Mgoboard members. Even though things can get a bit heated at sometimes, even in disagreement, we share the bond of loving Michigan. May better times be ahead for Big Blue.

To all the servicemen and women, a big Happy Thanksgiving. If your overseas... be safe, and know we back home, have you in our thoughts and prayers.

Seriously, this site has provided me so much entertainment, laughs and thought provocation.  Obviously, we can't all agree on how things should be done, but it's comforting to know that there are so many people who are just as, if not more, obsessed about Michigan sports as I am.  Have a great holiday, you guys rock.

Well said. Thankful for a team of players that will try very hard gun to gun on Saturday. They are hard workers and we should be very proud of how they represent the school each week with maximum pride and effort.

Let's get a win!

I'm thankful for a lifetime of memories of Michigan Football, from being a kid in A2 and going to the games back in the 70's and 80's, to now and even the past 30 years or so, living everywhere but Michigan, and having that one constant every fall. Always having Michigan football to follow as a link, a tie to home that I can always count on, no matter where I am.

Thanks for the warm welcome into your family Big Ten. I think we're going to feel right at home in this conference :). Have a safe and happy holiday!

Thanks to Courteny Avery for making the key 3rd down tackle on Scheelhaase (one of tens of defensive plays that made the difference in a 67-65 3OT game.)  This win was a tipping point between progression and regression.  Courteny had missed a similar tackle vs. Iowa, but stepped up big time.  One of many promising plays by our underclassmen who are playing before their time.
