It's a slow day on the board and an even slower day at work,so does anyone have big plans for the weekend/State game on Sunday?

What are you drinking?

What do you wish you were drinking?

Last weekend I got engaged in Ann Arbor, tomorrow I'm heading to Germany for work for the week.... so I'll be listening to the game via mgoblue.com.

Had a couple of Goose Island Green Lines last night, they were tasty.

I wish I was drinking Oberon and Landshark in July.

Was planning on watching Tiger and Rory go toe to toe again at the Honda this weekend.  That is until Rory withdrew after going +7 through 8 holes(!) on day 2.  Later released a statement that he was suffering from.......... a sore tooth?  His game is a hot mess right now.  He should have asked David Duval about the Nike curse.  It is a real thing.

Ahh.. the Arnold.  I've bartended in Columbus for 8 years and Arnold weekend in Columbus is to any other weekend in Columbus as any other weekend in Columbus is to Ann Arbor on a Monday afternoon.  The 2% on that weekend become the 98%.  I doubt I'd take my wife anywhere in public for a week, unless I want to get my ass kicked being a smart ass to some dude who works out as many times a day as I shit.  Love Joe Rogan, but he's going to be a meatball magnet this weekend.  Good luck to you, sir.

The good thing about the Rogan show is I hope most of the meat heads will still be at the Arnold. Plus Joe Rogan brings a very different crowd to his shows. There will be meat heads but also hippies, hot chicks, true stand up comedy fans and such. It should be fun. Hope everyone else has a fun and safe weekend!

The big plan for this weekend is, unfortunately, to sit down and actually do my taxes, or at least start them. I may also continue the ongoing mission of recaulking in some rooms and around some windows as we found a few minor drafts the other day - never again do I buy a 1960s ranch home. This is especially true when the "contractor" that owned the house before me nailed curtains to the walls and left me all the old asbestos tiles. I would not recommend this man for your remodeling needs.

The biggest event on the calendar is in fact the game on Sunday. It is the only thing on the list which I am certain to follow from start to finish.

As for drinking, gone are the days when you could walk into a supervisor's office and be offered a quick drop of something. My father has many such back-in-the-day stories from the floor of Detroit Diesel, however. I wish I could crack open a Guinness right now, but the Diet Coke and Asiago Roast Beef sandwich from Panera will have to do until 4 PM or so.

I'm drinking Peach Tea Mio and writing a new logon script for my work PC's. Later I will be drinking Peach Mango Mio and I will not be writing logon scripts.

Healthcare interface system that uses HL7 (among other standards) to pass patient data between different systems.  The cool thing is that I live in Columbus, but HL7 is based out of none other than Ann Arbor, Michigan.  So I still feel like I'm tied in up there, in some abstract sense.

Our company bought us Pizza by Robert for lunch (it's high quality pizza and I'm unsure if it's a national company). Now I'm full, I want a beer(s), and want to play Black Ops 2. I get off at 5:00. I'm going to get a sixer of Labatt Blue and play XBOX all night while the wife hangs with her super hot friend who is staying the night. mmmmm, I love the wife, but DAMN do I want to have sex with her friend. Yeah, I just said that.

Drinking water, which pairs quite nicely with a bland day at at the office. I wish I was drinking something with Captain with it, but that will have to wait until 430 or so. Dinner with friends tomorrow, a haircut, and the game on Sunday pretty much encompasses my weekend.

Just drinking water for now, but I'm stopping by Alesmith on the way home to get a couple growlers filled. Speedway Stout and a yet-to-be-decided beer.

Birthday dinner for the GF tonight, followed tomorrow by a potential tour of the part of a specific house named after a color that is named after a direction with appendages.

Drinking water right now, but later I'll be drinking some Bud Black Crown. Haven't decided if I like it yet, so I'm going to keep testing it.

Sunday afternoon was going to be blocked off for the big game, but had an unexpected change of plans. Got a free ticket to the Honda Classic on Sunday, so I'll be doing that instead.

I love Fat Tire.  I also love Bud, and Bud Select, and Shock Top.  And Guiness.  And Labatts.  And lots of other imports.  Black Crown is a good beer, high alcohol content and some good character to it.  If its the same price, I say they're very comparable.  I just think Bud and its products get a bad rep because people fancy themselves as beer snobs who are above drinking it because its massed produced.  Its very good for what it offers, an American style lager.  It doesn't pretend to be something it isn't.

All beer is good to me!

Sorry, I'm not trying to rag on people's beer taste. Everyone has their own preferences. It's just that personally, I don't understand the appeal of middle of the road beers. If I'm looking to consume en masse, good ole' Natty Light will do the trick. If I'm looking to enjoy the beer, then there are plenty of great craft brews I can find for ~$8 a six pack.

but for me, the variation of my beer tastes is depending on my mood and what the scene is.  Like I said, a good ol' American style ale with a burger does the trick.  For me, a cold Bud is an event, best enjoyed with a glass and some Stevie Ray Vaughn playing.  I like craft beers to have one or two, that's fine.  I guess it just depends on where I am and what I'm doing.  If I'm drinking for effect, then Bud Select is my choice.  Higher alchohol content and less calories than Bud Light, believe it or not.  At 44 yrs old, I have to stay aware of such things.
