Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas, etc...
I hope this isn't necessarily viewed as religious, but I figure with all the craziness on the board lately...maybe a little light-hearted entertainment would be appreciated. I was just emailed this and thought it was pretty cool.
These Shoppers Get An Epic Holiday Surprise The store set up 13 hidden cameras, used all their cashiers, and much more to make this holiday surprise go down flawlessly. Edeka Supermarkets are the largest in all of Germany. They decided to give their shoppers an epic Christmas treat.December 9th, 2014 at 10:19 AM ^

Don't get wrapped around the axle about negs...not everyone will get your sense of humor. Trust me, I speak from experience. Just do what you do and roll with it.
December 9th, 2014 at 11:19 AM ^
I should know better. Most people don't get my sense of humor. Probably because I've never found something to be "offensive" in my entire life.
No sacred cows for me. Except at dinner.

I didn't know that Germans celebrate Christmas. Heck, prostitution is legal over there. They don't seem like the most religious people in the world!

Basically everything about the way Christmas is celebrated in America, from the trees to the concept of Santa, is derived from German tradition.

And Charles Dickens (with a heavy dose of American consumerism-on-steroids added)

Why are there so many cashiers? Meijer is way better b/c they have like 30 lanes and like 3 cashiers. Seems way more efficient. Stupid Germans.

I enjoyed this . . . thank you! FTR, I don't think anyone would consider "Jingle Bells" religious. And I think "Happy Holidays" encompasses everything from Hannukah to Kwaanza to Festivus to Christmas to Winter Solstice. The whole point is to be inclusive. Of course, some people will always get their feelings hurt no matter what you do.
The bigger point is to really look not to take offense, especially when none is intended. Some people are just too crabby and get their feelings hurt too easily.
December 9th, 2014 at 12:28 PM ^
And who knew the Germans were so whimsical?
December 9th, 2014 at 12:33 PM ^
Its an underappreciated culture, that's for sure.
December 9th, 2014 at 12:32 PM ^
actually takes offense to Christmas then that is their problem, not yours. Now back to my Harbaugh vigil!
