If Hackett can land Harbaugh  this is great.  Maybe its the case of Bud Light I've drank but I'm skeptical.  The way these last 7 years have gone I'm skeptical anything will end in success.

That said, I think Hoke is gone.

I'd love Harbaugh, but if he won't take it, please contact Bob Stoops. He's won a national champonship, and without a lot of controversy. Has recruiting ties in the midwest and Texas.

As for recruits, of course they'll de-commit if Hoke is fired. They'll also de-commit if Hoke stays. We're not going to keep many, so let's do what's best for the program at this point.

No one can make us watch Devin Gardner ever again pretending to be our QB or the emotionlessness of he and Hoke. Here's to my vote to never have to see Brady Hoke again either!

Will be a marathon and not the sprint that everyone wants it to be. First, his situation with the 49ers has to be resolved in such a way as to make him available to be hired, secondly, Hoke and his staff has to be shown the door for there to be a coaching opening for him, and his people to come, thirdly Jim has to decide that Michigan, and college football, is where he wants to be, and be willing to take a little less financially to do it, lastly, this has to fall during a time period that will allow him to come and, at least, salvage something of a recruiting season. It won't happen next week.

I fully agree with everything you said, it won't happen next week. However, the Seahawks may force the 49ers hand as early as the week after that. There's quite a bit trickling out from behind the scenes with the 49ers and none of it sounds good for Jim. If they put up another performance against Seattle in two weeks like they did on Thanksgiving (a distinct possibility as the game is in Seattle) the Niners may be moving on from Jim a whole lot earlier than anyone originally thought. Everything else you said about Jim ever becoming the head coach at Michigan is truth but at least on San Francisco's end of things the news is more and more encouraging for Wolverines that want Jim Harbaugh.
