Going to OSU game, any advice?

Submitted by mgoDAB on
My friends and I will be going to this year's edition of The Game and could use some help. We have a place to stay. One box checked. But now we need tickets. We are mgostudents so we don't want to be spending too much. I know that's a tall order, but basically we're just trying to get into the stadium. Nosebleeds or sitting behind the beams is not an issue. So how have you all found the most success getting tix? Did you buy online or find them another way? We are students if that helps at all. Our group will be 4-5 people. Thank you!

Your issue is based on Pew's widely disputed 2011 report -- which would take Douglas Coupland (born in 1961 and the first spokesperson of Generation X) and turn him into a Baby Boomer! ... Pew also claims the Millennial generation began in the 70s. LMFAO.

Most still go with the traditional divisions:

Greatest Generation -- 1901 to 1924

Silent Generation -- 1925 to 1942

Baby Boom -- 1943 to 1960

Generation X (Baby Bust) -- 1961 to 1980

Millennials (Generation Y)  -- 1981 to 1999

Generation Z (Second-Wave Millennials) -- 2000 to 2020

Smash your head into a brick wall 50 times to loweer your IQ.

Wear body armor.

You'll be just fine (probably).

Don't be a dumbass. They will give you a little ribbing but it shouldn't be more than that and when we win, most of them will be too sad to do anything. However, leave the drunks alone!!! Go Blue

Bring men, men who can defend your honor. Walk softly and carry a big stick (Buford Pusser style). You will be insulted, denigrated, and threatened. Avoid conflict, but set boundaries when absolutely necessary. Walk confidently, and do not muffle your enthusiasm for the Wolverines. Revel in victory, but move with haste away from the broken spirits of the defeated truck drivers and waitresses that will litter the concourse. Jason Bourne your way to the car and hit the highway.

Do not try drinking around the stadium. Cops are asshole there and will bust people for drinking at tailgates. If drinking from beer cans they'll nail you asap. I've seen them bust OSU fans when down there during Michigan bye weeks praying for an act of God that OSU would lose.

on my car. Take all your Michigan shit off your car. Wear what you want into the stadium, but know you will be a target. They are subhuman zombies.

It's not as bad as you think it is.

Now granted, I sat in the club level in my fiance's dad's seats, so there were more classy folks there than sitting with the general population. And it was 2014, when they couldn't hate us and probably more just pitied us, but within that context, it's not as bad as you think. Now if we go into that game 11–0, it's probably a different story.

We need to support the team even if it means dealing with the worst dam fans in the land.

As a transplant to Columbus from our fine state, ive gone a handful of times, sometimes solo. My advice: DONT DRINK (so you've got your wits and don't say or do anything that will elicit violence), EXUDE CONFIDENCE (they tend not to say anything when you know you're better than them, and CHEER VALIANTLY (bc its honorable and that's why you're there in the first place.

Also, check out the Central Ohio Alumni Association (for Michigan) website. We may plan a tailgate.

I've been 3 times and never had any major issues. Of course we've never won, either. This year M section tickets through the AD are an outrageous $195, a face value I've never seen before. Could prove to be a good deal depending how the season plays out. See you there, go blue

Wait until September 18th to buy your tickets. Oklahoma will embarass osu on the 17th and their miserable fans will be upset and sell their tickets the next day. It will be a buyers market and you should be able to get a decent price.
