Going to Bloomington?

Submitted by GoWings2008 on

So...I'm headed to Bloomington Friday afternoon with a few friends for the game this weekend.  I wanted to see what other MGoBloggers are going and see about some sort of rallying point on Friday night.  I've connected with some other Michigan fans in that area for a tailgate and it sounds like there's a good lot where much of the tailgating happens.  Should be a good time...

Any plans for anyone else?  Maybe pick some bar to take over and sing the Victors Friday night.

My wife and I are staying in a hotel just north of Columbus, IN so we're not going into Bloomington until Saturday.  Where is the good lot you're referring to?  We'd like to do some 'gatin before the game too.

Yeah, me too -- exactly.  Driving up from Evansville with the wife and 2 daughters, going with friends that my wife works with.  So we'll have a Michigan - IU tailgate and head back home after the game.

Interesting that 4 tickets and a parking pass cost us $135 through IU -- almost the same as one ticket to the MSU or Ohio games.

Stop in Greenwood on your way down (40 minutes north of IU) and watch Peters play. Maybe even a JH sighting?

Never tailgated in Bloomington but hear that south of the stadium is where the atmosphere is at.

GoFundMe to finance a trip to the next two road games? The regular season is already 75% done and we're in the home stretch, but there's only one more home game before we say goodbye until September to our favorite home, The Big House. Where did the season go?

Park in the grass lots off of 17th between Forrest and Walnut Grove.  That is the best area for tailgating in Bloomington.  We live in Indiana now and both of our children go to IU.  We have been to quite a few games there and the Hoosiers are very welcoming and know how to tailgate.

My first and only Michigan game of the season! Visiting my Niece in Evansville on Friday, then drive north Saturday morning. Hope to get there around Noon! It would be great if most of the stadium is filled with Michigan fans! I bought my Tickets last June through the IU athletic department. Looks like a lot of IU fans are selling tickets on stub hub, so Michigan fans may be the majority of fans! Harbaugh may be shocked to see the number of Michigan fans there!

My son was invited to IU for a unofficial visit Sat & we are all huge Michigan fans. He was told we can't wear any michigan stuff. It will be hard for me to keep from accidently showing favortism to Michigan. That would be funny if on the side-lines I accidently act like I usually do on a great Michigan play. I may be first Dad kicked out on a visit. May not be good for my son. I will just have to keep my feelings in my head and put on a show for the other team.
