Go 'Noles!

Submitted by CLord on

Contrary to what most thought, the Buckeyes are going to crush the Badgers with their 3rd string QB.  But if the Noles can hold against GTech, the Buckeyes will remain 5th and OUT of the Final 4!  Go Noles!  As well as Ohio State is playing, there appears to be zero drop off no matter which QB is playing so it won't be exactly like '73 when Michigan was held from the top bowl game due to a QB injury and an asshole MSU AD, but I'll still be thinking of Bo, the '73 AD committee and Dennis Franklin if FSU can just hold!

I never understood this Michigan fan thing where we want our bitter rivals to lose all their games. I'd be ok if they won the national title. Anything that the B1G does that is elite helps all the teams in the conference, helps recruiting, helps us in our future (hopefully) playoff hopes. The better the conference perception the better for us when we are back on top of it.

They'll have a legitimate argument, having beaten TCU.

I love all this--just shows how dumb a field of 4 is.  It'll be at least 6 next year, hopefully 8 on the way to eventually being 16.

Not to mention once the Presidents see the $$$$$, they're going to want to have more access.

even tried 4. I'm with Brian when he discussed his ideal playoff (I think it was 6)--there has NEVER been a year where 8 teams deserved to win the national title--and 4 is pushing it many years. This year there are 6, if you accept all the arguments and allow for any record of one loss. But IMO a 2 loss season automatically disqualifies you from being deserving, period.

It's amazing that people are debating playoff design. It's been designed and implemented literally everywhere else since the merging of thought and sports occured how ever many years ago. Win your conference/division/cult/whatever, get into the playoff against other winners. Figure out who runs the bracket there. Everyone in the league has their say, and you have a legitimate playoff winner.

Skipping over the idea that a "power 5" will be passed over, why do we even have the MAC in this division? We don't even give them a real shot at competing for a championship. Are we that desperate for room meat?

TCU is screwed. Ohio state has nine quarterbacks better than any other FBS quarterbacks. Cardy not only unleashed a tweet of legend but apparently he can play and looks 34. Give him props, dude don't play school.

As much as I said before tonight that if 1-4 win, they are all in...

...I'm not so sure anymore.

I think TCU gets (unfairly) booted. It's kinda bullshit, because the Committee gave them the #3 ranking last Tuesday, knowing full well that ISU was the only remaining game on their schedule, and all TCU did today was go out and absolutely roll.

But it is what it is. Does anyone (really) have any doubt that OSU is a much better team than TCU, and would absolutely light them up head-to-head? I don't.

OSU is in.

Anybody that thinks OSU will not jump TCU after this performance is drunk.

TCU's 2nd most impressive win, Oklahoma, won't even be ranked after this weekend.

Pretty damn good arguments can be made for OSU, TCU and Baylor. OSU and Baylor seem pretty damn similar. The loss to VT is really bad but the loss to WVU isn't that much better. TCU Has the best OOC and the best loss, but that was to Baylor. OSU pasting Wisco today is comparable to Baylor beating K state. Oklahoma losing hurts both Big 12 teams. I would say no way Baylor jumps OSU Based on today's games, assuming the current results hold but either/both could jump TCU.

Who cares about OSU?  GT is a real school like UM and we should root for other institutions that have academic standards and apply them to football players.
