GLI ticket question

Submitted by ToledoWolverine on December 16th, 2017 at 1:20 PM

So I was just perusing ticketmaster and stubhub for tickets to the GLI and I am curious if anyone has suggestions/plans on getting the tickets cheaper than advertised. My 2 boys will be in town for the holidays and I want to take them but as a 40 year old college student in the midst of a career change, read: broke as a joke, I dont want to shell out $150. Do they get cheaper as we get closer, day of, sort of thing or should I bite the bullet and buy them at face value? I yield to the boards experience and expertise as Ive never been.

Would also appreciate any insight on where to park/eat.

Also, not sure if OT

on the secondary market? Wait it out, they'll be much cheaper the last couple of days before the tournament. I can't see much demand when it's scheduled on the New Year's holiday weekend, especially when the Outback Bowl is going to keep most Michigan fans in front of their TV.

We talked about going downtown for the day, finding a place to watch the football game, and then show up late to the first game before watching Michigan that night (game starts at 6 or 6:30).  Couldn't justify the expense for the size of the family though.  If I were single or without kids though...

Nowhere near the board-smacking experience you're looking for, but there are upper bowl general admission tickets are $10 each (half-off) if you use a promo code sent to the various local youth hockey teams.  I can't make it with the kids this year, so feel free to go in my stead.  Click Here to buy. Use promocode PUCK if you're asked.  Don't tell anyone.  /s

No clue what scalpers are going to be doing on the day of.

Don’t get much time with them so I have to make it count. What better way than Michigan football and hockey in Detroit on New Year’s Day? Ok maybe it’s a little bit for me too....

There is a structure right next to it that is $40.00 per car for Wings games.  MGM Grand Casino is a 0.8 mile walk for free.  I do it for Wings games all the time.  And there is probably no safer place security wise than a casino parking structure in terms of surveilance.
