Getting to Know the Freshman - Matt Wile
It's kind of a slow Saturday on the board, so I figured I would post this up.
As many of you have probably seen, they are posting short bios of the incoming freshman football players at mgoblue.com.
Well, today was Matt Wile's turn, and my favorite part was...
My advice to young kids ... Nothing good happens after midnight
So hopefully that's a good indication that we won't be dealing with anymore kicker suspensions in the near future. Too soon? Maybe.
Anyways, you can see the rest of the freshman bios here:

Did anyone check out his bio? Scout rated him the nation's #4 kicker and ESPN rated him #44?? Holy inconsistency batman!!

Yeah. Who cares what his ranking is though. We all know that it means nothing when kicking in the big house.

Apparently yours did, too.

and he stuck the landing perfectly!

Quintuple!
August 13th, 2011 at 5:33 PM ^
Quadruple is correct. The fifth was from a different user. Almost the same words...creepy!

I think this man missed the joke.

Synchronized multiple posting!

The keyboard got stuck.
August 13th, 2011 at 5:29 PM ^
Many keyboards around here will get sticky if this kid can make his field goals.
August 13th, 2011 at 6:13 PM ^
...but true. There will be a lot of tingly loins in the MGoBlog community if our PK can consistently nail 30-40 yarders.

I like Frank Clark's word to describe Hoke, Epic.
August 13th, 2011 at 5:03 PM ^
EPIC

too funny.

Lots of good things happen after midnight. Too bad I'm never sober enough to remember them.

Your comment was made even funnier by your avatar. Kudos to you sir.
Anyone watch How I Met Your Mother?
August 13th, 2011 at 5:32 PM ^
Unless it's Pizza House.
August 13th, 2011 at 5:32 PM ^
That's the first thing I thought of when I read that post.
August 13th, 2011 at 5:31 PM ^
The quote about midnight is actually a Lloyd quote. He used to tell the team that to keep them in and out of trouble.
August 13th, 2011 at 6:20 PM ^
That quote has been around a lot longer than Lloyd Carr. Authority figures have been telling people that for many, many years.
August 14th, 2011 at 8:42 AM ^
Didn't mean to imply that Lloyd actually coined the phrase. Just that he used to use that quote all the time to his players.
It is nice to see that this kid is mature enough to get this as such a young age.

Was struck that Rawls favorite book was Tuesdays with Morrie. As mentioned above, loved the Clark EPIC description of Hoke. If you haven't clicked the link, go over and read them all.
August 13th, 2011 at 7:10 PM ^
that Rawls' career high was 398!! that's quite a game.

Anybody who lists Sour Patch Kids and French toast as two of their favorite foods is OK in my book.

AFTER WATCHING LAST YEARS KICKING GAME THIS IS THE MOST I'VE BEEN EXCITED ABOUT A FRESHMAN SINCE HENSON
August 13th, 2011 at 6:04 PM ^
REALLY HELPS TO ILLUSTRATE THE POINT. I'M EXCITED JUST TYPING THIS SENTENCE.

Tony posada is gonna make one huge teacher. No messing around in that class

Always intersting to read about the influences, personal preferences and memorable moments for the newest Wolverines, but Matt Wile's bio seems especially rare.
According to his bio, Matt Wile's father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather all attended U-M Medical School; and his favorite subject is Physics. Next episode of Countdown to Kickoff? Matt Wile explains Einstein’s Theory of Relativity to the rest of the team while using Denard's highlight reel for his demonstration.

Wants to be an engineer post-football too.
Also noticed that Posada and Bellomy picked math as their class subject.
Its always a plus too when the kid's favorite football player growing up went to Michigan (Bellomy and Rawls).
