Get a workout with former M hockey player Chris Tamer

A friend of mine recently alerted me to the fact that former Michigan hockey star and 11 year NHL veteran with the Penguins and Thrashers has opened a gym in Brighton and does personal training work.

As some of you know I volunteer with an alumni group that runs an online auction that benefits several undergrad scholarships at Michigan. We just received a donation of three personal training sessions with Chris Tamer at his gym in Brighton. If you're interested here's the link:

but i heard rumblings from people who know things and they said Mike Babcock could potentially succeed Red!

Babcock is experienced but not old - and well you all know his credentials - but the kicker is he has two kids coming to U of M in the next two years!

My family works out at a gym by the airport in Ann Arbor (HyperFit USA) that does the same grind-you-to-a-metal-toughness workout as Tamer does at "Sticks". He is a frequent guest at our gym and is a good guy. I highly recommend this for anyone interested in a good gym environment. The Michigan women's rugby club works out with us also ... tough ladies. Not sure about the fighting on skates but I'm sure you could learn to defend yourself against attack by someone with a banana, passion fruit, or bunch of grapes ... pointed sticks extra.

I'll be moving to Brighton by the end of the year and I would be honored to have him as my personal trainer. I wonder if I have any chance to fit in his schedule, I've been checking out some nice supplements on for a while now and I am dieing to start a new workout routine and he would be the right person to keep me motivated.
