Stallings said his preference would have been to keep the B12 together and he thought replacing NE would have been a realistic option but it was not seriously pursued. He also said TX will make the best decision for them and A&M will make the best decision for them, and that there it is not necessary for them to be joined at the hip.
He was just asked what he thought if TX ended up in one conference and A&M ended up in another. He said it would have bothered him in the past but not now. But he also stressed he has not been in all the meetings and is not privy to all the options.

Ok, he just said SEC basketball is on the upswing. So, his credibility has some question marks.
Not sure how much influence he has, but he did not give a single answer suggesting he preferred P10 over SEC. He made numerous favorable comments about the SEC.
