Great to see Michigan's first bowl back is a New Years Day game. I will be gladly watching that nursing a hangover.

In 1978, some school went down to play against Clemson in the Gator Bowl, and it turned out to be their coaches last game. It would be ironic if we were to emulate that school with the same result this year.

In my epinion,
beating MSU >>>> Florida >>>>>Tenn.
Although I think a UM vs Fl. would be more appealing to the general public, I am really happy about this matchup.

Revenge vs. The Vols, or 3-0 vs. The Gators is fun. Lower risk, higher reward. Miss St...is kinda meh. But an accomplishment to beat. But probably a lot more risk to lose to also.

would think that UM should blow them out of the water. Just going based on name recognition and history. I think it puts in a tough spot from the perception standpoint.

But Mississippi State is a tough matchup. Nothing flashy, but hard nosed. I believe that they are better than Connecticut, as some one above hinted.

Well our offense will have to bring it's A game. That shouldn't be a problem right? Yes? Ok! Looking forward to playing them with a healthy Delithium and the team focused on football.
Note: KJ Wright (#34 Miss State OLB) is a projected high draft pick. He has some skills!

Nice to be in a decent bowl game (even if we got the nod mostly for tv reasons). On the other hand, msu is sort of a dud opponent. If you beat them, nobody gives you much credit.

I just read thru ESPN's bowl schedule and it lists "Mississippi State vs. Michigan". Does this mean that we are the home team and will be wearing blue? I'd prefer that by a longshot. Anyone able to confirm one way or the other?
