Gateway (near Pittsburgh, PA) has been a D1 recruiting hotbed since Smith arrived 11 years ago. The school board has been giving him a hard time the past few years because he was both football coach and AD. It looks like he had enough, and moved on to bigger things.

This is Montae Nicholson's school. I hope this coaching change doesn't drastically change his recruitment, as I think UM is the (slight) leader right now.

I feel this is even more insecure and irrelevant than tracking flights, stalking teenagers on twitter, or trying to decypher a kid's recruitment based on what hat or shirt he's wearing every day.  Good lord... now we're tracking coaches of prospects from a year or two out, fretting what effect this will have on us?  Lots of information = good; too much information = overload, confusion, and random conclusions.

From the sound of the article, this is both a step up the coaching ladder for him and a chance to get away from what seems like a contentious relationship with district leadership, so hopefully it works out for him. I believe Matt Rhule also added Phil Snow (Eastern Michigan's DC) and Jeremy Scott (Penn State's S&C coach) to the staff as well.
