Two potentially embattled coaches for perhaps the two programs in the country whose history demands results incongruous with those they've achieved on the field more than any other.

Both might actually be good teams this year, though.

Win The Game.

Their QB situation is rough. Wimbush is a good runner but a bad passer. Teams that can stack the box and play man against him will destroy them. Book is a slightly better passer, but not a great one, and a much less frightening runner. Then behind Book is a freshman.

At RB they have Dexter Williams and Tony Jones. Williams might be decent but he’s suspended for our games. Both are very much unproven - they lost most of their rushing yards from last season and a new face will have to carry the load on a run-heavy team.

Receivers are decent, but doesn’t mean much if you can’t hit them. They lost most of their receiving yards, mostly between St. Brown (draft) and Stepherson (expelled), but return Claypool and Boykin who are big physical guys. TEs are young but were highly rated recruits.

The OL will take a step back without Nelson and McGlinchey and the loss of their OL coach. They have talent stepping into the starting lineup, but it’s still new starters replacing top ten NFL picks.

Their defense is solid but not great. They return everyone from a unit that was not in the top 25 in S&P. They don’t have good pass rush. They have good LBs. Their CB Love is really good, but opposite him is Crawford who is small and beatable. Their Safety play has been bad.

They seem somewhat like our team last year tbh, but maybe slightly better on offense and slightly worse on defense. I think they’re an 8-4 or 7-5 team.

If Assistant Coach Roy Roundtree is going to be there on the sidelines during the game, then maybe Denard Robinson, Jeremy Gallon and Vincent Smith should be there too. https://youtu.be/ZsHbCfgPA1c?t=7m3s

Are u guys worried of wimbush? I was watching his highlights last night along w others on ND, and he in particular looks good. Assuming he's even average at throwing this year, along w his running style he's gonna be tough. Might be too much of a challenge for us. Am I overreacting??

He could be good, but our defense is specifically engineered to slow guys like that down.

The reason OSU has beaten us in the last two years has not been outstanding QB play, one drive by a backup notwithstanding.

That's not to say that Wimbush won't make plays or get some points, but I would be shocked if he lit us up. Absolutely shocked.

Ugh... Just piling on at this point. Until recently, I had planned for an entire year to go to this game. Now we're buying a home and cant afford it. Buying a home is great and all, but the thing about my obsession with Michigan football is, I'd live in a cardboard box if it meant I got to go to every game.

My wife says she loves Michigan football... Lies. A real fan would sacrifice.

Well this is what we want. National stage time to put up or shut up. This is Harbaughs chance to recapture the magic. If he can’t do it then he will never do it. I have faith he will do it. He gonna shock everyone and march out of south bend with a big win! GO BLUE!!

Magic? What 1997? Other than that year UM gas always lost 1 or 2 games, and quite a few of those losses are to ND. Dont give Harbaugh and this team an all or nothing situation in the first game of the year at the #11 team in the country, Hey Im hoping for good things this year too but dont be one of those fans that starts crapping on the team if we lose.
