Game Week Posbang

Backpacks, short sleeves, and chalk markings saturate the Diag.

Strangers wearing block Ms share a knowing nod as they pass on the sidewalk.

You shake your head at an orange-themed pumpkin display in the store: "It's barely even September yet."

A school bus rumbles by outside your window, open to celebrate the coolness of late summer.

You click on a website. Still the same. You click again. And once more.

A new page loads, its headline racing the pulse.

It begins: "The Story."

Football is coming.

I watched the Maize and Blue Paris special on BTN over the weekend. Man, Don Brown is so awesome. I love that guy! Seems like the kids love him too. That was a great special. I watched it with my son, and we both became giddy. Coach Harbaugh is so professional, and just bleeds maize and blue. Can not wait for the season to start!!!

Hot take!

I work near South Bend, and have a co worker whose husband is a Notre dame employee in the athletic dept.

I was asking her for her take on the game this weekend, and she said some of the teammates feel the team is not 100% prepared it seems. They are really worried about Michigan, and seem really unorganized in practice. I brought up the whole "practicing with a soccer ball" thing and she just laughed and said "There you go".  Makes sense too since hearing about Wimbush's progress and now the possibility of needing to use two QB's (Book) for us.

I don't know, this made me feel pretty good, in spite of the Tarik Black news. I really hope we pound them and win a decisive game, somewhere around 31-10 or something.

Anywho, I know, cool story bro. Go blue!

Here's my feelingzballhottake:

The lead up to this game is feeling very similar to the UF game last year. On paper, the teams may seem evenly matched, but there's enough smoke about dysfunction at ND to make you wonder if a blowout is in order, especially if we can dominate on the defensive line. Meanwhile, their fans seem completely clueless about how good Michigan can be. Saying things like their offensive coordinator is an even match with Don Brown, or that our offensive line will be worse than last year. You wonder if that mentality can bleed over to the players.

That might be the dumbest thing I've ever posted (which is saying a lot). Guess we will find out soon.

Absolutely! I hated to post that feelingsball take as well, It's just that at the start of last week, most domer fans were dogging me and almost certain they were going to destroy us. After the Wimbush reports and and the issues regarding practice performance, today my co-worker seemed downed on the game and almost didn't care if they lost.

I just really hope we win and have zero injuries. That's one main reason I hate these huge first game match ups. Injuries man, injuries. Poor damn Tarik Black. I hated hearing that news.

I feel like I'm channeling WD, but at yesterday's open practice I noticed the yard line numbers on the field are now in the same Nike-Michigan block font as the jersey numbers.

Today, I am so appreciative to be a Wolverine. I've spent the last three days just outside Columbus, dropping off my son at Denison. My husband remarked yesterday, "Everyone here looks like they would fight you. Even the women." I'll add even the elderly women. And everywhere you look, Ohio State. License plate holders, spare tire covers, pumpkins at Kroger painted with the Buckeye football helmet, cookies at Panera, etc... If only I had time to stop in Ann Arbor before I drive home tomorrow, to cleanse myself of all this.
