Furman's decision postponed - weather

Josh Furman's announcement has been delayed, but not because he's changed his mind. For those of you who haven't seen, the Crab Bowl has been postponed to Monday due to weather. Link

For those who live in Michigan, this might be amusing, but in the Baltimore/Washington area, snow is really a four-letter word. The latest predictions are potentially a foot or more. That would probably mean more snow over the weekend than we've had over the last three years combined. Also we don't dig out very well so that could mean that schools, etc., will be closed on Monday and that in turn could mean a further postponement or even a cancellation.

You're 100% correct. I could see this storm shutting down the Bmore/DC area for a week or so. Of course, if they used rock salt instead of sand...they might get the snow out of the way a little faster.

I've seen it once back in college in Cleveland. My roommate saw it and said "we're really going to get hammered with snow". We got over 40 inches of snow over that weekend.

It's no longer a winter storm -- it's a blizzard. I shoveled 8" at 8 a.m. and I suspect there's been another 8" in the 3 1/2 hours since. I can see an Interstate from my house and there's little traffic at this point. Now they are saying tomorrow is sunny so there's some hope the Crab Bowl will happen on Monday, but if I were betting all schools -- and the Federal government -- will be closed on Monday.

Yeah, my girlfriend works there. She was supposed to work those two days, so she's on Christmas break about four days early. Hopefully my school district will follow suit soon.
