Friday Schadenfreude: Florida board Eubanks meltdown

Submitted by SAMgO on

Florida must have wanted this kid pretty badly judging by the seven page (and counting) thread bemoaning his Michigan commitment. Here's the link: http://florida.247sports.com/Board/14/Contents/TE-Nick-Eubanks-commits-…

Highlights include:

"Harbaugh kicked our butt on the field and looks like he can swoop in within a few weeks and take our recruits, as well."

"Well Nick, you better hope that you really love your new dorm room. Because you're gonna be snowed into it for 5 months out of the year. College life is supposed to be fun, not a jail sentence. I sure hope that, "Hello Walls", is his favorite song. Because he's gonna get to know the 4 walls of his dorm room real well. In no way could I pick a school strictly for the football side of it. Living in Siberia for 4 years isn't my idea of a fun. Chomp! Chomp!" (I personally always love the internet tough guys that are scared of non-tropical weather)

"I concede Michigan won the post-2014 coaching carousel. They really lucked into having Harbaugh as an alum and the fact the 49ers ran him off. But he's a one of a kind hire, the guy spent his summers as an NFL QB helping his dad with recruiting and scouting as some kind of unpaid, volunteer assistant at WKU.

The stories of Harbaugh on the trail remind me of Meyer."

EDIT: Best one in the whole thread -

"It's literally all about the sales pitch. Not record, not head to head, not stats. Its how you sell it. Just so happens we have Michigan beat on almost all those things they sold but they know how to sell it and we have the worst staff of recruiters relative to the program in the entire SEC. You could take almost any staff and put them in this same situation UF is in now, meaning new staff, 10 wins, ATL, favorable depth chart, 28 ships, PT everywhere, instability everywhere else, loaded state every year, etc and they'd produce anywhere from the number 1 class to something better than this."

Did we not just beat them into submission in their own state?

But there are only so many layers you can take off.  (Not that such things matter to college-age men.  Hence cheerleader reasons for picking warm-climate schools.)

And all that damn sun!  Palm trees may be pretty, but they don't give you any shade.  Better to stay indoors to protect your eyes and delicate skin.

Ahhhh, Florida. Heaven's Waiting Room...

I have an idea! When I get old, I want to move out of Michigan to Florida. That way, instead of sitting inside for 4-5 months to avoid the cold, I can sit inside for 4-5 months to avoid the heat (while wearing sweaters!!). PLUS, when I am actually outside, I can be surrounded by America's filthiest rednecks, drowning in meth and poor life choices...

I live in Melbourne and it's not too bad but I also live on the good side of town (Suntree/Viera). The West Melbourne area is pretty sketchy but still not as bad as other places I've lived. I'll agree that most of the rest of the space coast is pretty miserable though, especially Titusville.

That said, I don't plan on living here long-term and certainly won't be moving back. Once you do Disney once/twice and spend a summer hanging out on the beach, there really isn't a whole hell of a lot to do unless you own a boat. Orlando is a pretty garbage city (as far as entertainment there's really only the parks) and everything else is too far away through miles of swamp/wasteland to do anything regularly.

I did get to go to the bowl game which was cool but I'll take the good old midwest back any day. Christmas lights on palm trees look ridiculous.

I lived in Alabama for 14 years....summer's SUCK.  Walking outside into 110-degree weather with 94% humidity.....It's like, you take a breath and your lungs fill with warm water.  Walking from the front door to the car is like taking a shower with your clothes on.

I'm soooooo happy to be back in the midwest where there are ACTUAL seasons....

Instead of the deep south where the seasons are:

Almost Summer

Summer

Still Summer

Christmas

i still live in alabama, have my whole life... i get your point but id say the seasons follow this pattern:

Summer

1-2 weeks nice fall weather

cold as fuck

winter

1-2 weeks nice spring weather

hot as fuck

People who complain about cold weather up north who live in the south make me laugh, because honestly we get cold weather here too.. last winter it was 6 degrees with a negative windshield.  People who use the "its cold in the north" argument only say that because they have no other points to argue.  Also the inverse argument that its hot as fuck in the summer in the south is just as equally a point northerners can make IMO.

There's a big difference between Alabama and Florida. When you are on the coast, the winds greatly mitigate the heat and humidity. I remember sitting out on the deck facing the gulf on Anna Maria Island in May, watching the sun set, and feeling just a bit nippy.

Variety is the spice of life. I love the four seasons too, and like Michigan, but there's something to be said for both areas.

Hello Walls....really?!?  That's such an old old country song.  I know this is a single take from that site but man that's horrible.  Quick though, were they that butt hurt when Denard committed?  I can't recall.
