I was on a tuna trip off the coast of New Jersey some 20+ years ago, and I'd caught a 85 pound yellowfin (tuna put up a hell of a fight ... it took me 45 minutes to get him in).  After the deckhands had quartered out my fish, the carcass had several pounds of perfectly good meat left on it.  Someone broke out some wasabi.  We feasted.  It was fantastic.

This is a rare Friday for me that will all be spent at work.  Normally, I head home just after lunch, if I drive in at all.  But today?  Nope.  Today is an all day affair.  This Friday sucks - good thing it'll be raining, as I wont' be missing a nicve day at home!

I've worked at a company I hate for almost 9 years. Today is my last day.  (Not many jobs in my industry in my area.)

Been talking to a small company for four years and they can finally afford me.  Starting Monday.

Well, it's still raining here in Belleville....for the moment. The temperature is 34 degrees Fahrenheit and falling, so the transition to sleet / snow should begin in the next hour or two, I would assume. Later on, expect your traffic app - if you live in this part of Michigan and you have traffic alerts on your phone - to probably blow up.

All the same, I get a three-day weekend coming up, so I cannot complain too much. I can just stay in if it is too brutal, and it sounds like it will be brutal.

For the horrible ice storm in Tennessee! There’s got to be at least 0.0001 inches of ice on the ground and it’s just below freezing! Run to the stores! Get all the water, milk, bread, and eggs you can! Can’t survive winter weather without water and...apparently French toast.

Apparently Tyler Friday postponed making an announcement for a couple of weeks, and Lorenz says this is a good sign for Michigan since it gives us more time to persuade him to sign with us. Lorenz also said that he thought the main negative for Michigan was the uncertainty over Partridge's status, implying that if he made a definitive decision to stay with Michigan that it would be of benefit in recruiting Friday.

He also said another factor were the rumors that Schiano is considering NFL offers, which would presumably affect Friday's decision as well.
