Friday Night Drinking And What Are You Doing This Weekend Thread

Late in from the fields with the kids, had been thinking there'd be a Friday night drinking thread but to my dismay no such thing is posted - so here it is.  What are you drinking and what are your weekend plans, only 20 days away from football.   

It is hot up here, way hot.   Red pop in my coffee cup, nothing says quality like an $8 bottle of Newman's Own Cab.  Not bad for that price, no complaining.

Go blue.

Going to Ann Arbor tomorrow to spend the day. Maybe will head over to the submarine and see if I can see anything through the cracks in the barricade around the practice field.

Am also going to MDen. There's going to be new Basketball uniforms  per the MDen catalog, but they aren't in the catalog yet or on the website. If I see them at the store, I'll report back with photos. 

Rueben and spicy ginger ale at Z's for lunch and will probably head to Pizza House for dinner.

while in ann arbor?   shame.  go have a sister ann and chocolate chip/coffee ice cream milk shake.  you're too young to worry about cholesterol, and  on a hot day i bet you will be very happy with that mix.

we used to go to a place near between gladstone's and topanga, right on the water. 

it'll be 85-95 at the beach here in michigan.  i am doing a triathlon sunday, not looking forward to the predicted 96 degrees.  my predicted slow time will only go s-l-o-w-e-r....

Tonight I'm drinking a Boo Koo from Mother Earth, which is pretty darn good for scraping the bottom of the barrel. Hot in San Diego, so about to jump in the pool for a sunset swim. Pizza is ordered and I'm hoping to watch Planes Trains & Automobiles with kiddos tonight. Kids pool party tomorrow and some gardening for me. So..not super exciting, but a chill weekend

I do like it, and in fact beer number 2 tonight is Fortunate Islands, by Modern Times..."Hoppy Tropical Wheat" avoiding to the label. good and not too heavy! As for a SD bowl, that would be disappointing. I'm hoping for a bowl in Pasadena. If a SD bowl happened, I will give you a list of "must see" places...but there are really so many out here, in a pretty small area. We are very spoiled. But if for some reason, we end up playing in SD, I would organize a get together at somewhere cool...MGoMeetUp type of thing,

Just spent a week in munising / any train for my honeymoon, so this weekend is back to reality - grading papers and getting some research done while mentally preparing for heading back to work. Anyone feel like buying me a house in the UP? I'd love to leave flushing and live with nature up in true beauty.

Grapefruit Sculpin (raising a can to mgobrewmom) and watching the Mets. There is absolutely no way they are going to let us down again this year... After a morning bike ride out East on Long Island, I will be installing new range hood ducting from the kitchen to the exterior. Then reskimming an old plaster ceiling. Fun times ahead. I'm going to propose my own show to PBS, "Fuck This Old House."

Enjoying Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss this evening while cleaning up the house - having a two week old daughter as well as a 3 yr old boy & 5 yr old girl typically results in a fairly messy house.  Not complaining though - having kids is a blast and life is good.
