I have to say, this whole situation seems a bit weird. Tate announces that he will be going to Miami, but then never goes back to their campus. Then he says that it is so he can stay close to home... and says that he is considering going to Auburn.

Well, I think his point was along the lines, of this:  you've had some great moments as a freshman but a lot mistakes, pretty much on par for a true frosh, though your immaraturity didn't help.  During the summer you wouldn't work out with the team and had a crappy attitude, which led to the backup getting the starting job during your second year.  You had some good backup moments.  You're a pinpoint passer, but still act immature and can't see over the line of scrimmage.  Despite rumors that you'd leave, you stuck out your sophomre year, and then didn't go to class.  Huh.  Then despite saying you were going to stick it out, you left.  We're stil not sure if you were invited back or not -- grades vs. desire to transfer -- privacy and all.  You say you're going to transfer to Miami, and then never go back.  Yeah, good luck at Auburn and USC, you couldn't start here with zero depth.  At least at an SEC school maybe you could avoid classes altogether, Tate.

Auburn?  Does he expect to actually play?  Might be in need of a reality check, though Montana and San Diego seem more realistic.

his head was never on quite straight and he suffered from the adjustment of home-schooling to the big stage of Michigan and all that it offers.

I hope he wakes up soon and realizes he needs to focus on getting his academic life turned around because the NFL is a pipe dream for him at this point.

Honestly, his best option was to find a way to get his UM degree and build a future from that.

I wish him well and hope he stops deluding himself with thoughts of starting at a big-time program.

He's going to be an Aztec.  he will probably have a couple decent years as an Aztec, go to a bowl, bang some chicks, and then every once in a while over here will be remembered as "remember that last second win at Notre Dame?"

More sports glory than there's going to be in my epitaph.  Good luck, #5.

I really wanted to keep liking Forcier. At Michigan he did some great things like having clutch drives and of course the freshman Notre Dame win (one of about three games that I've ever watched that gave me the adrenaline shakes watching it) and what he did in his sophomore year in the Illinois game.

I felt bad for him when I would see Rich Rod berating him with extra intensity on the sidelines as he sat looking all depressed. Yeah he threw too many interceptions by trying to keep plays alive that he shouldn't but I wrote it off saying well thats cuz he's a freshman and that's what they do. Made me even sadder when he played in his sophomore year and I saw he hadn't improved at all from a year ago making the same mistakes, which I placed a lot of blame on the coaches for not telling him STOP!

But the saying Michigan gave up on him along with the not showing up to any classes/grades thing along with his ridiculously covered transfer along with his seemingly high opinion of himself just makes me want to be done with him.

I really don't envy the school that gets him.

Tate needs to grow up.  I appreciate what he did, particularly ND 2010, but what has transpired was almost predictable.  Remember that great interview where it seemed like Tate had started growing up?  Smoke and mirrors.

It is tough to be so young on such a big stage, but some players manage it well and with humility.  All you need to do is look at Denard, who simply goes about his business and thanks his teammates for his success and puts the burden of failure on his own shoulders, to see how it should be done.

For Tate's sake, I hope he appreciates that getting a degree should be an important focus as he doesn't seem to have the skills to make it at the next level.

One of the service academies would be the best place for Tate.  Seems that the lad would benefit from some rigid structure in his life.

Last time I'll be commenting or posting about Tate, better to spend my time on players that actually attend, may attend, or graduated from Michigan.

His dad.  Boren's dad.  The apple doesn't fall far from the tree - I'm not sure if San Diego is going to help him or not.  Regardless I wish him well...
