I reject the notion that this site has taken a downturn in quality recently, and this post is example A #1 why that is true.  It's the perfect distillation of sports, in a single word.

I hope our shooting improves come B1G and the big dance tournaments. I think our defense is good we just have to learn to play better against press teams.  I think football next season will be better towards the end of the season. I think we finally take out OSU and may win the B1G with 2 losses. Not sure if this record will be good enough for the playoffs!

Heck yes.  Football.  Not sure college games are worth the watch given the NFL is the boss.  Hope Michigan has a great season, but this collge shit is rigged so beating an Alabama is not remotely possible near term.

Mongo's solution ?  Expand the playoffs.  Pay 5-star players like $60k at signing.  Make it 1 year and done for he elite guys (like MBB).  Open the transfer portal to everyone that is a soph or older ... no sit out a year for a one time transfer option.  No questions asked.

If college ball doesn't make changes, then like 5 "major-league cheating" teams will dominate the playoffs, etc. forever

My Texas buddy said that Jimbo Fisher left FSU because the FSU boosters would not pay players enough to compete versus Clemson.  At A&M the money cannons are out in full force!!!  Look at Jimbo's recruiting class.  Money talks.

For recruiting the elite players college football is rigged.  Michigan will never outright pay families $60-80K cash to land a 5-star recruit.  The NCAA sucks.  If the FBI gets on the case like MBB, then maybe there is a foreced change ... but until then?  No way.  Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma will dominate.  They pay 5-star recruits to dominate.
