The starting lineup was LeVert, Walton, Irvin, Donnal and Chatman.

They are just killing this team. 94-47 was the last score update.

Better a Twitter feed than nothing...FWIW, I was under the impression these Italian teams would be a tough test, though I have no idea about this team in particular.

I wasn't expecting the competition on this trip to be stellar, and this first game seems to be bearing that out.

Someone on Twitter posted a couple of pregame photos. Perugia Select Team:

And the Wolverines:

Hopefully, we get to see him do that a few times over on this side of the pond as well. Definitely, it will be a great moment when he first steps onto the court at Crisler just when he comes out with the team, never mind the moment he gets into a game. To think of where Hatch was and what had happened not all that long ago, to see him playing in games and leading cheers for the Wolverines is awesome indeed.

He breaks down the competition in Italy here

And talks about how the Basket Academy All Stars game went here

Of particular interest to me:

Mark Donnal pulled down 3 offensive boards.  Ricky Doyle had no rebounds whatsoever.

Doyle however took 7 shots and hit on 87% of them.  I'll try to get a boxscore with the BAAS stats too.

The bigs are the unknown to me(as is the competition) but that game on the 22'nd against the Mantova Stings should give us some idea of where Michigan stands in the post(Well, without big Max anyway).  They've got proven bigs.  It should be a good game.

Man, I can't feel any better about a coach than I do about Coach B.  He recruits high character guys and is one of the few basketball coaches at a big time school to be a man of his word and not a complete egomaniac.  Would Austin Hatch be able to experience this at any other top tier program?
