Follow up: Drake Harris reopens recruitment, considering Michigan

Submitted by mzdmv on January 15th, 2013 at 10:35 PM

To add on to the post from yesterday,

Drake Harris has reopened his recruitment and said he is considering Michigan.

Also considering 4 powerhouse schools in the south (Not sure how much I can/should say since it's paywalled)

Info from TomVH on ESPN. LINK ($)

EDIT: Reason is because he wants to focus solely on football

This is a revelation. He's uber talented as evidenced by his performance in the state championship game. I hope Michigan is a real player again. MSU has to be shitin' bricks right about now

Hopefully gardner and gallon pick up where they left off next year. It would be nice for WR recruits see borges' passing offense for themselves, rather than being told how it will be.

edit: I guess he is not the #1 wr lol.. thats what i get for beleiving what i read on rcmb without checking

My brother watched a few G.R. Chritian games this year and talked to Drake's uncle a couple of times.   Mr Harris told my brother that Drake grew up a UM fan and was surprised he committed to MSU.  Also, his uncle said Drake has to do a little more work in the classroom, if you know what I mean.  Not starting anything just passing info that was discussed by two fans at a high school ball game.

Yeah, I know, cool story bro.

commits. They have a good season and begin to think that maybe they can do better, so they re-open their recruitment. Can't say that I blame them, but it sucks for the school that they originally pledged to. It must be tough to be in the players shoes, wanting to lock up a spot, but also wanting to get the best school.

: Brah, you're kidding right?

: He better be kidding! Us, we stayed true to our word!

No but seriously, can you blame them? Coaches are changing jobs during and after bowl season, coaches are rescinding offers, they're leaving their recruits. At the same time, you have these recruits getting attention from every school in the country. At that age, it's got to be really difficult to both handle the attention and to make what is one of the most important life decisions that they will make. You add the element of finding a perfect coaching staff and school, only to have the coach leave or to have the offer rescinded and...

EDIT: For the record, I agree with you about committment. However, I just think the reality of the current climate of recruiting does not really support that type of conviction.
