I've never cared how at full strength a team was when we beat them. What is the logic there? Just so they can't come back and say "well, ya know we weren't at full strength when we lost to you guys"? I don't care and history won't either.

That sucks. Those are typically a career ender. I've personally never seen anybody come-back from one of those and ever be the same.
I hope he fully recovers. It is a pretty big loss, but it would be far worse for the team if this happened right before a game.
