Remember him saying he grew up a UM fan, but he chose to stay close to home and committed to the Noles.

Luckily we already have Cole, but wonder what our other options for the 2015 class at WR are

I don't think we need to pursue another wide reciever in this class, our depth charth looks pretty solid, not proven, but solid. I think we can afford to take only one this class. Room is tight. We should be able to take 2 next year. Already in good shape with Austin Mack, Steven Smothers, etc.

In other words, If we hold on to Brian Cole then IDGAF about anyone else.

Don't think we need another WR because we have so many who are underclassmen.  I have no idea if we are "loaded" - these are words for proven players like Maryland have.  We have a lot of potential payers - that is different from loaded.

But the general point is with Funchess gone we'd still have a group of

  1. Canteen
  2. Darboh
  3. Chesson
  4. Ways
  5. Harris
  6. Dukes
  7. Jones
  8. York*
  9. Cole*

And 2/3rds of those would be underclassmen.  And Funchess might come back - who knows (I assume not but just saying)

I think take two in 2016 - we dont need an extra one this year as we are very bottom heavy in WRs in terms of very youthful types.  If we had 3 SRs and 3 JRs I'd get it but we have a very unbalanced distribution of players right now lacking upperclassmen.

MD OT - Patrick Allen to Georgia.    Not worthy of its own post because it was discussed on the home page just yesterday, but (IIRC) he had "interest" in UM but it was understood he was not picking UM when he moved up his selection date prior to his official

If anyone is interested, Tomahawk Nation has coverage (obviously) at their site including some quotes from Auden Tate which give some insight into his reasoning (LINK).

"That's one of the few visits that I really liked," Tate said. "The coaches didn't promise me nothing, and told me I could come work for a spot. At receiver, they do real good with spreading the ball around."

They also have a short discussion on how Tate can fit into FSU's offense and mention that the Seminoles were targeting 3-4 WRs in their 2015 haul.

It's not about York. You don't want to put yourself in a position where you're relying on one guy (Cole) to pan out. Sure you could still get by with the class before (2014) and next years class (2016)...but if it doesn't work out, you're looking at a situation like we've had at TE in the past and we had at OL last year.

Would've been nice if we had another option other than Brandon Moore a couple years ago and definitely would've been nice to not have to lean on freshman OL last year.
