Five prospects who could raise rankings this fall ($)

Submitted by umjgheitma on

ESPN posted 5 (ESPN 300) prospects they expect to make a bump up in their rankings throughout the upcoming season and one of them is a Michigan commit:

DE Luiji Vilain (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal)

ESPN 300 rank: 102

The Under Armour All-America Game selection and Michigan commitment is a rare talent. While the 6-foot-4, 238-pound Vilain has been playing football for nearly a decade, it is only his second year in the United States. This year should help Vilain develop into a more confident player, which will lead to added consistency. While a natural pass-rusher, additional confidence should allow for his elite athleticism to show much more after flashing some of that as a junior.

Very excited to see what Coach Brown can do with such a weapon.

His school plays a high school a few miles from me (where Wilton Speight went, incidentally) on 9/30. I look forward to seeing him in person.

We are so so lucky. It wasn't long ago that we were frustrated because there wasn't anyone good on the roster. Now, we're frustrated because there are too many awesome players on the roster and not enough snaps to go around. Harbaugh!

He's certainly a top 100 player just from watching his game film. His speed around the edge and size are both top end. It's safe to be wary of his level of competition given recent talent we have procured from VA, but he really stands out as a dude. One year in a college weight program and he will be ready to roll against anyone.

When Virginia becomes known for their elite level of high school football competition I'll let you know. Not saying good players never come from there, but Stevie Wonder could watch Deveon Smith and Derrick Green's HS tapes and tell which was played against football players and which was played against kids waiting for baseball or lacrosse season.
