Zak Irvin, most disappointing 4 year player... Ever? Top 50 player in HS, shows tons of promise as a Freshman, and now goes out with 2 terrible years. Ugh

Zak would be a great second/third option on a decent team. Instead, he is asked to do almost everything offensively and a lot defensively because of the lack of talent/leadership/whatever around him. I don't think he is great but it say he is the most disappointing is too far. He isn't Levert/Stauskas/Burke but he would be a good piece on a solid team (like many other top 50 players who were good shooters their freshman year).

He's not a D1 talent imo.  Maybe he had the potential coming in, but he has regressed to the point where he does not possess the talent of a D1 senior player.  Nothing personal, seems like a great kid and teammate, but between shot selection, shooting form (which is just as awkward and now more inconsistent), poor defensive footwoork, and inability to drive or see the court, he is simply no very good.

Top 50 player is an insane rating....that assumes he is an NBA level player, which he is not.  Top 500 is more realistic.

Around this program is awful.  Beilein looks tired and the only kids who appear to give a shit are Walton and Wagner.  Crisler is one of the weakest home courts in college basketball.  It's time for a change.  Need a younger, more energetic head coach.  Need someone who stresses physical play, defense and rebounding and that simply will not tolerate less than 110% effort.

People who say "Yeah, well be careful what you wish for. Who are you going to hire?"

This program is lifeless and is all but dead. You cannot have that frozen mentality of fear to make a change because it may not work out. Yup, it might not. But what's happening now is CLEARLY not working.

"Who are you going to hire" is a valid question for Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, and Duke (if K ever leaves). Those are programs that expect to be a #1 seed every year. That is similar to Michigan football, and while Hoke's decline made it obvious that it was time, Harbaugh's souring relationship with San Francisco meant that Michigan fans always had a white knight to run toward.

But Michigan basketball has no such pressure. They can make a run a guy like Fred Hoiberg if he's done in Chicago, but they can also take a bit of a risk with a lower tier coach. Michigan doesn't need a guy that will make us a dominant national powerhouse; it needs a good coach who can recruit, make the tournament, and occasionally make deep runs.

They can find a guy like that somewhere.

"Michigan doesn't need a guy that will make us a dominant national powerhouse; it needs a good coach who can recruit, make the tournament, and occasionally make deep runs. " Too low of expectations. There is no reason Michigan cannot be a consistent #10-20 team and looked like Wisconsin and MSU have over the last decade.

I really, really, really like John Beilein. However, I want him gone. College Basketball is about recruiting, and he can't recruit. Beilein could win with Duke or Kentucky's roster, but not even Coach K or Calipari could win with Beilein's players. My point being, you don't even give yourself a chance if you can't recruit; even if you're a great coach. Beilein has recruited good players, but they were mostly "hidden gems". You can't count on that strategy. For every Trey Burke, there are two worthless, undersized big men or non-athletic wings.

It's almost like anybody can make a final four with a roster of 6 NBA players.  UK has made that a regular thing, must be nice.

Beilein got so lucky that Burke, Hardaway, Stauskas, Levert, and GRIII were on the roster at the same time.

How about grab a rebound? Team underperformed, shows up against Indiana and then celebrates too much. No discipline, no accountability, only Walton seems to play for pride against rivals. Time for new coaching.

Live coach B, love what he has done for the basketball program and university, I respect the man in every way, maybe he's just getting up there in age and doesn't have it anymore? Idk, but we have to part ways.

Ohio State is tied for 83rd in rebounds per game. So, we can all agree they are a relatively average rebounding team.

Michigan was absolutely dominated on the glass. I've seen a lot of Beilein-coached Michigan teams that have struggled to grab boards. The offensive rebounding from Ohio State was one of the more embarassing things I've seen in awhile.

We need Tom Crean -- Izzo type intensity. Harbaugh would come back --he doesn't come to any games anymore--too soft coaching for him

I haven't watched a Michigan basketball game for quite sometime now. I just cannot stomach watching it and seeing how soft everyone plays no defense whatsoever. It's either live by the 3 or die by the 3.

I've been following arico more this year. They play great style of basketball score and press. She brings in elite recruits. They will win big ten in the next few years. Brandon got one hire right.

I'm officially on board with #FireBeilein. We need someone that can recruit better. The players don't have the same energy as they use to. We need an Izzo-type coach that doesn't only recruit "system players"

There is zero upside in firing JB midseason.  The hole that has been dug is too deep and there is no one in the wings that appears capable of turning the tide midseason.  He's gonna get paid regardless so let things ride until the end of the season, buy him a gold watch, and create a position in the athletic dept for a coach that did a good turnaround without using bagmen.

In the meantime start sending out feelers through agents and see who is legitimately interested and meets the criteria that M is looking for in their next coach.  If after the season JB is unwilling to stepdown gracefully then so be it, then pull the trigger.

Decisions should not be based on emotion and firing JB midseason would clearly be an emotional decision.

I'm still on the Archie Miller bandwagon but not as much as I previously was after watching some Dayton games this season.  Chris Mack is someone also worth a look imho.

7 th grade phenom basketball player identified Kentucky and Msu as his favorite teams.
The kid lives in Ann Arbor - Beilein has lost before he starts
If good players don't want to play for you because of boring style- hang it up
