Filling Out the Class - Weekend Edition

Trying to sleuth out the class, more for "how many spots can we take" - max 30.

 

Thesis

  • We have 22 commits
  • 3 gone so back to 19 - Elliott, Johnson, Weaver
  • 2 added by 8 pm , back to 21- Uche, Mmmbop
  • Silently (?) - Stewart, McDoom
  • Added in my heart - Gary
  • Warm feelings - Allen, Hudson
  • Once academics clear = offer = Sam gut = sad Frankin - Dwumfour

Take you back up to 27.  DiscussMan from there on spots 28-30.  If you get both kids out of Cali (no speculation that is happening) you basically have 1 slot it seems.  If not, then 3 max?

^^^I quit that 2 days and 3 hours ago according to the recent posts. I felt a need to comment on the Swenson stuff with some info after speaking to someone in the athletics department.

turd ferguson called me out fair and square...I tipped my cap to him. I could've just created another username like WD. But it's really not that serious. I'm glad I've steered clear of most of the rubbish - however, I saw this thread and knew Alum posts quality stuff and felt the need to read it. Especially since I said 2 days ago, I was done with all that because I had some stuff I wanted to share with the board about the Swenson/Spath/Greenwhatever debate.

Ideal scenario imo would be to not take Stewart and then get Tagaloa, Asiasi, Murphy, and one of Hill/Fuller for the final four spots. Seems very unlikely though.

I don't think we can take Nordin on scholarship at this point.

I like Alum's posts...I think he's the best and should be on the MGoStaff. I just think ever since other people started noticed he's become arrogant as fuck. Which is fine, I'm rooting for the Panthers right now and their starting QB is arrogant as fuck - it's not necessarily a bad thing.

I remember when it was just me and Alum in the Late Night Games (open theads) watching some west coast game and still posting at 1am EST. So I have some context.

I never said I disliked the guy. But anyone who has read one of my far too many posts on this site will know, I'll forever speak my mind and I'm not afraid to say how I feel. Others may not agree and that's fine.

In this case, I thought Alum thinks he was being cute trying to call me out on something when he was 3 days late and I'd not only acknowledged it, but I'd also come back a day later with a post that literally started "I lied." I feel like if someone is going to make a comment, you can't comment back when it's incorrect. It's not even that I was upset or offended, I was just pointing out that it was wrong/late...and thus weak.

I didnt see where you did the retraction so didnt think it was offensive or "weak".  Was just being playful on my end in a koala bear way.

I like the people who dont always just talk the company like - thats a David Brandon thing, so people like Don, Yost, and a few others who say things that are not always maize tinged are good with me. 

I'm ok with being online arrogant ;) Also snarky.  It's all good - not a big deal either way to me, just making random online comments, some snark fails.

Understood. You and Alum96 both make great contributions to the blog (as your point totals indicate). I just thought I'd use a little humor to try to defuse the situation. Now let's return to our regularly scheduled pasttime of speculating wildly about who will be in the class so we know which kids we like and which ones we hate!

Are things so bad with the King coaches that UM can't even sign the brother of a guy who is major contributor on the current team? I guess its just hard for me to believe that the King coaches would have a greater impact on this than his own brother. That would come off as a major coup for MSU :(

Not specific to Hill but yes upped a lot - they have 3 of the top 100(ish) players in the nation now per 247 Composite in Corley, Robertson, and King.  And 9 of the top 250.  That's a pretty impressive haul considering they only have 20 recruits.

Also not just about his brother - Corley and Vance are supposedly close friends with him, esp Corley.

Well it's not that simple...I mean Hill is only here for another year. His 2 best friends reportedly are Vance (MSU commit) and Corley (MSU commit). He would be with them for his entire time there. I think the best sell we can give him is the depth chart...learn from lewis for a year and then basically you are guaranteed a starting spot in 2017 given our roster situation.

I think we get Conner Murphy. His brother, who Harbaugh got to the League, was there for the slumber party. Seems like a pretty strong influence to have in M's corner.

At least it's good stuff in the OP though. Quality content can be arrogant...you're like the Cam Newton of the board. Me? I'd like to think of myself as Dominic Raiola...always around, but not very helpful with anything.
