It's Day 1 of the 2015 FIFA World Cup being held here in the beautiful country of Canada.
Match 1 features the host Canadians playing against China at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta (home of the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos)
As a fringe soccer fan im excited to watch Canada's good team and standout player Christine Sinclair.

Match 1 Canada vs China 6:00 FoxSports1
Match 2 New Zealand vs Netherlands 9:00 FoxSports2

Sadly everything that has happened at FIFA has put this as a second thought. Also FIFA also completely screwed this up making the women play on turf. That would never fly in the men's game.

Yeah but you would think the Women's World Cup would be marketed to the same crowd that watches the UCL...

Said crowd is probably boozed up or crying in a corner somewhere rather than watching the WC like they would on any other day.

Meh iuno.

I REALLY don't get that.  If you want soccer to grow in the US the women's game is just as important as the men's game and frankly, you owe it to these athlete's to not put them in situations where their legs and knees will get torn apart.

Oh fuck off. Ref missed a clear hand ball by the Americans in their box. But decided to call Canadian goaltender for time wasting and awarded a penalty after a ball struck a Canadian in the chest and grazed her arm late in the match that gave the US a win.

When have you seen a time wasting foul called and penalty awarded before a warning is issued? This is similar to Sparty Bob allowing an extra second on the clock. Terrible job done by the people in charge not a knock on the opponent as the spartan football team didn't do it and the us women didn't do it.

Canada needs more off ball movement. Players are making runs but players near aren't making themselves available. Stalling their attack at times
