Extra Motivation for Denard
This was retweeted by Rothstein via Twitter (Brian Hamilton article from The Trib):
"You have to give it to him -- he's an athletic guy, he's hard to tackle, but every guy can be beat," Irish defensive end Ethan Johnson said of Robinson. "One guy is not going to rule the game.
"I read my keys and if he's really close to me, I'm going to tackle him. I'm not going to go in there afraid of the guy. If he makes a move, and I stay in balance, I'm going to make the tackle. If I misstep, I misstep. I'm not going to go in there scared like, 'Oh, maybe he jukes me.' Can't play like that. I'm going to go in there and make every play I can."
He is definitely not trashing Denard but those words are something that could play into some extra motivation.

Can't picture Denard pissed off, but I bet that article would make him laugh real hard.

I'm not even sure he's laughing, but he's definitely smiling.

It would appear that he has not yet had the opportunity to watch the film from UM vs. UConn.

realistically I'm more impressed with the offensive line... Denard was aMAIZEing, but I found the line play to be slightly more impressive.
At any rate I'm super pumped for the ND game this week, hey do u think damefan1 will make a video?

It seems to me that Denard is already ruling the game with all the press he has been getting this week.

"After that, I think I'll cure cancer, or find Osama bin Laden, and maybe solve the world economic crisis, and hook up with Kate Beckinsale."
And, sorry, I couldn't resist...
"And maybe I'll call up my old coach Weis and help him lose a hundred pounds."

I don't think 100 is enough to make much of a difference.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:39 AM ^
Agreed, that's what good ol' Charles would call his "breakfast weight".

Kate Beckinsale is MINE!!!!
(give you a crack at her for 2011 UM season tix!)

+1 to you sir for engineering a Kate Beckinsale shout out from nowhere

He once claimed to be able to catch a Zoltan punt without wearing a flame-retardant suit. He's clearly nuts.

This is one of the best weeks of the year! Of course the productivity at work will suffer, but with all the ND week MGoingson what do they expect? Denard won't need any extra motivation this week. Quotes like this clearly show that no matter who the coach is in South Bend, Domers will be Domers.
GO BLUE!
September 8th, 2010 at 11:39 AM ^
For what it's worth:* a bunch of my Domer friends keep asking me some variation of "does it bother me that Denard can't afford shoelaces?" Somewhat reminiscent of all the "what kind of car does Charlie Weis drive...? A Lloyd Carr! hahahahaha" jokes I heard in South Bend the night before the '06 game.
*probably not much
September 8th, 2010 at 12:41 PM ^
yeah, he used to tie this shoelaces, but he is so fast, the knots used to just melt off from the frictional heat. So, he just doesn't even bother anymore....
September 8th, 2010 at 12:01 PM ^
That sounds like a quote by one of the women who played Linebacker at OSU who said something similar when Vince Young came to town...
September 8th, 2010 at 12:45 PM ^
Does he really think Charlie could be beat in a cannonball contest?
Damn, I miss that guy.
September 8th, 2010 at 12:49 PM ^
Good luck to him.

They have seen Denard on tape, it's a whole nother monster when you see him live. The ND defense will eat these words after Denard goes over, under, through, and around them with ease.
