Everyone ok in STORM 2012?

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
Haven't seen any funnel clouds, but they're out there...they have pics in Dexter. Serious hail on the South side. My deck is white. How is it where you're at in Michigan? Stay indoors if you can, stay safe, and hopefully keep power, so you can tell your best storm stories.

M lacrosse coach John Paul tweeted that assistant coach Ken Broschart's house was hit by the tornado but that he and his family are ok.

She is fine, thank you. She managed to avoid it and was actually driving home down territorial and mast when it touched down so she fled to safer grounds. Every tree in her yard was uprooted and placed on her garage and car.

right after explaining that our unexpectedly gloomy day was due to a "back-door" front coming from the East rather than the West as is customary.  I guess this was a good day for the fronts to reverse on us so we only got gloom.  Thanks for keeping us outlanders aware of what's going on out there.

My wife and i live in Dexter & our house was vaporized. Luckily we got in the basement in time with the pets. Our whole block is devastated and thru out the sub. Still in shock! Thank god for insurance and nobody was hurt. Hopefully nobody else was hurt either. Absolutely mortifying to go thru it.

I live in Dexter and no, we didnt come unscathed. Lots of family friends lost their homes. We had minimal damage compared to them, but it was a really rough day to say the least.

that was the worst storm I've ever seen.  We had a funnel cloud pass over our neighborhood in Lodi Township which may have been the Dexter tornado.  On top of that, a driving, hail storm with quarter sized hail and deluge of rain that lasted the better part of an hour.  And don't get me started on the thunder and lightning.   Fortunately, I grabbed my dog and ran into the basement when the storm hit (the cats were on their own as I couldn't find them).  Can't wait until May when the Big Storms usually hit!

This is all terrible. It's right by where the Michigan Sailing team practices, luckily they all got off the water and home before it got bad.

I was sitting in a bar in downtown Detroit, and we didn't even get a drop of rain. It all moved its way around us. Amazing. The radar looked scary as it approached, and I was expecting (hoping) to get stuck in the bar a little longer.

Worst.  Flight.  Ever.

I was second guessing even getting on the plane in Charlotte to come home knowing full-well of the storms.  After a slight delay, we took off and fought our way in with heavy turbulence and lightning zapping all around us.  Not fun at all.

I have a video I shot out the window if someone want to show me how to upload it.
