I'm new to the blog. I was reading the "I've started to realize..." post and wanted to comment but the topic was locked. Does Brian do that for EPIC FAIL topics? or was the stupidity of the post threatening to bring the whole blog down? (This topic is "open thread" so I hope I'm OK with this end-around.)

Normally locked threads are for people who say stupid things. That way people can down vote it and it can go away. Occasionally, I'll also temporarily lock a thread so that the OP author can see whatever comment I've left, such as it being an obvious repost, then after a few minutes, I delete it. Like what I'm about to do with this thread.
Open threads are places to talk about the subject of the open thread. Try to stay on topic with that. If you have other "meta" questions, consult the FAQ or email Brian.

I was certain that Notre Dame managed to find the most boastful, self-congratulatory, overweening douche of a coach during the fat-man Weiss era.
Ahhh, but I was wrong. Brian Kelly has filled the void of self-importance so well on the ND sideline. That smug grin and patronizing roll of the eyes everytime his qb makes a mistake has one longing for the humility of one Front Butt Weiss. His haughty demeanor reinforces the inevitability of a 90 yard ND touchdown on every subsequent snap, if only his idiot QB could comply and execute on his brilliant schemes. An interception or unsuccessful drive is never on Kelly, as player development is not a responsibility of such a genius. Instead, accountable for all the misteps and losses are the faulty cogs in the perfection that is his flawless football machine. Here's to you Brian Kelly....May you keep that annoyed glare in your eyes and cussing mouth towards your freshmen QBs to time's end. You are indeed a worthy heir to the thrown of bombastic Golden Douchery.
