Agreed.  It looks like another strong year for B1G d-linemen.  Congrats to Denard on #2 though.  It's more important to be #1 AFTER the season.

Congrats to Denard,....number 2 isn't bad.  In terms of impact, while a D lineman can be disruptive, there is virtually no way that Crick's impact can be as great as a QB with Denard's running skills.

Tennessee fans lost the Peyton argument when he couldn't beat Florida.  Losing to your rival when you have a great team makes it hard to take you seriously as the best player in America, especially when the guy you are competing against is putting up a better season and winning championships.

If Crick lives up to the hype that he is the next Suh (and he played pretty well last year) then he can have quite a big impact.

Just look at what Suh did to Texas in the Big 12 Championship game a couple years ago. He terrorized Colt McCoy for much of the game thus having a huge impact from the defensive side of the ball.

but not at the level of Suh.  I would say 3 DTs in the last few years have played at a high level in college ball is Suh, McCoy and Fairley.  All are unblockable one on one and command double teams and made a ton of splash play.

Crick is a 1st rounder but not as a 4-3 DT, but more of a 3-4 DE in the next level.

I think Denard got hoseddd. If this is a preseason ranking of players ability and what they have done. No one deserves #1 more than Denard. Look what the kid did to my beloved Irish... Denard should be #1 hands down.
