ESPN 1000 Radio: Adam Schefter
Apparently, I've been told that they were talking about Super Bowl odds for next season(assuming that there is one). Schefter said I would not pick either of those teams, and they asked who he would predict. He paused for a good 10 seconds and said the DETROIT LIONS!
Interesting, nonethless. I can see it if the Lions can draft well once again and other players progressing. If Stafford can stay healthy, I can see that happening. After all, the Lions beat the Super Bowl Champion with a 3rd string QB(Stanton) starting for them.

If Stafford can actually stay healthy for a whole season, the Lions would def. be a playoff contender. Once you get into the palyoffs, anything can happen. With Megatron, that offense can put points up.

in the last 4 games with tons of players in IR. They've won 5 games with 2nd and 3rd string QBs starting for them. There are several close losses that the Lions could've easily won. They are learning how to win close game and it shows at the end of the season. The future is bright for the Lions and we finally have reasons to be excited about the future of the Lions. The Packers and the Lions are the team of the future for the NFC North as well as the NFL.

Yeah that division is going to become the new NFC East. Chicago is a legit WR away from being pretty good to. Seems to be the one thing that offense is missing. Cutler was pretty good when he had Marshall and Royal to throw it to.
And for my Steelers, they need to draft CORNER. I wanted to throw up seeing Willie Gay out there looking lost on every play. Maybe a new DT to supplant Hampton as well. And then there's the annual need for OL there. Le Sigh....other than Pouncey their OL draft picks have been pretty underwhelming as of late.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:10 PM ^
The Bears are overrated IMO. They need a lot of help on OL and WRs. Most of their defensive core are aging like Urlacher, Briggs, Peppers.
I can honestly see the Lions finishing 2nd in the NFC North next season with a shot of contending for the wild card berth.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:39 PM ^
I agree that the Bears are overrated. IMO they basically traded away their future in order to get Cutler, and it hasn't worked out quite as well as they hoped. I don't think they're going to get any better than they were this year.
February 8th, 2011 at 6:25 PM ^
Losing in the NFC Championship game to the Superbowl champions is a tremendous disappointment.
February 8th, 2011 at 6:49 PM ^
With no 1st or 2nd round picks for the last two years, good luck getting back there.
Just remember......without a phantom call in Week 1 against the Lions, the Bears wouldn't have even made the playoffs.
February 8th, 2011 at 9:11 PM ^
This is not a touchdown.
... apparently.
February 8th, 2011 at 4:50 PM ^
If you have an extra hundred to put down on a 100-1 shot why not bet them.
February 8th, 2011 at 4:51 PM ^
are 50 to 1 according to Las Vegas. I can put down 100 bucks and get a nice payoff if that were to happen.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:28 PM ^
because they're 200-1?

An informative thread title would be nice.
Sincerely,
The guy who posted an article from the front page

Browns-Lions Super Bowl. Book it.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:03 PM ^
Ahahaha. I think the planet would asplode with two teams that were in the cellar of their divisions last year, as well as NEITHER team ever making it to a Super Bowl.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:06 PM ^
Never underestimate the power of Tom Brady
February 8th, 2011 at 5:43 PM ^
The Lions got 3rd place in their division this year!
I really do think they could be good next year though, I've never seen that much promise out of any Lions team overall as they showed this year.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:56 PM ^
It basically happened in MLB in 1991. The Twins and Braves met in the World Series that year and if I remember correctly they both finished last in their respective divisions the previous year. It was also one of the best World Series of all time. Of course, I'm a Twins fan so I am a little biased.
February 8th, 2011 at 9:06 PM ^
They went from 4-12 to Super Bowl winners. That was the dawn of Kurt Warner.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:08 PM ^
Schefter's from Michigan. He was probably joking.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:16 PM ^
NY, not Michigan.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:12 PM ^
Raiders vs Lions FTW!!!!!!!
February 8th, 2011 at 5:22 PM ^
but i just can't picture detroit in the SB anytime soon. As for next year, I see Dallas and New England. With Dalla coming out with a win
February 8th, 2011 at 5:32 PM ^
Gotta love those "Dallas to the Super Bowl" preseason picks.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:42 PM ^
Dallas is currently a team in relative shambles. Maybe in a couple years, but Dallas predicted to be in the SB next year is almost laughable.
February 8th, 2011 at 6:26 PM ^
More so then the Lions?
February 8th, 2011 at 6:37 PM ^
The Lions are currently in a much better situation than the Cowboys.
February 8th, 2011 at 8:22 PM ^
I think as long as tony romo gets back to good health we'll be a sb contender. especially now that wade phillips is gone, he was a bad choice on jerry jones' part but he made it right. we gotta do great, we have a beautiful new stadium to do great in.
kinda similar to michigan's current position, rich rod is gone. we have a newly renovated amazing stadium, and because we now have brady hoke we will have a natinal championship next year.
February 8th, 2011 at 8:41 PM ^
but not great. The Cowboys defense still has issues and the OL aren't good.
February 8th, 2011 at 6:18 PM ^
Funny how not one person mentioned the packers yet lol
February 8th, 2011 at 6:37 PM ^
...about Harbaugh leaving Stanford to come to U of M, again? That was pretty spot on.

It's not the same thing. One statement was made as a reporter. This one was made as just an observer.
