Entire 2017 class has officially enrolled per directory

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Hello, everyone. It's been awhile. It's great to be back home.

Very happy to report all 19 of the 19 incoming freshmen in the 2017 recruiting class have officially enrolled per the umich directory. No surprises this year. The 30 man class is officially here.

Deron Irving-Bey was the last one to come in last week.

In addition, all 10 PWOs have also enrolled.

Special shout out to Brad Hawkins who was the lone freshman who did not make it last summer. He's had a long journey here so it was great to see his name pop up when searched. Great story.

About that....I'd like to clear things up about why I left because there's been a ton of theories. The main reason was because of my health. 2 months ago I was in a really really bad spot. My relationship of 1.5 years was crumbling and has since ended (yes, I am not the Michigan version of Sheldon Cooper. Friends on here who have seen her before can vouch)., I was just feeling exhausted and cranky all the time and certain days little things would just set me off. I didn't leave because of anger at mods or something like that that I've heard thrown around from friends. The parody account with the thread that I actually did laugh at had other nasty posts that just bummed me out and I realized that I could eliminate stress by not dealing with it anymore. Since then I've made drastic changes. I walk 3 miles almost every day of the week, I've cut pop completely out and as a result I've lost 15lbs and continue to. I also have been doing other things like going out with friends almost every week to 21 only places. The come to Jesus moment about coming back here was cleaning a girl who I barely know's puke out of my car Friday night at 5am. I've see some things since I've left...... I appreciate everyone who has sent me kind words whether it's been through tweets, DMs, emails and even on here that's gotten back to me. It really helped. Don't know where else to post this so I'm just dropping it here. Not trying to make this a thread about me.

Not really. I had friends on here send me funny stuff to read if it was a meltdown thread or something about me. Few times I came on here and read some front page stuff.

No shit man welcome back bro! It does suck when your lifr starts falling apart bcuz everything around u goes down with it. Glad your in a good spot man and glaf your back. I like the stuff u post and your freshman numbers help me a lot when working on rosters. Best of luck man and don't let haters get u down. When people blindly hate on u 4 no reason it's either bcuz their jealous or the problem really starts with them. Believe it or not you don't have 2 be the problem 4 people to talk shit.

You've got something against Amy Farrah Fowler? 'Cause she's a hottie. I kid.

Care to explain how seeing puke at 5am brought you back to MGoBlog?

I, too, dropped 15 pounds last year by quitting soda. Alas, it didn't take and I'm back to my old weight. Dr. Pepper taunts me.

It wasn't fun. Waking up feeling like I've been punted by Mesko in the head wasn't fun either. Doesn't mean I'm gonna stop entirely but I was going way too hard, too fast. That's not me. This is me, where I can be productive for us and at the same time have fun outside of Michigan.

Probably happens to more guys than you think. (Raises hand)

Good job on the cutting out soda and healthy habits. I did the same thing over the winter when I had the Blah's and what a difference it's made both physically and mentally.

Welcome back, but dude...  If cleaning some chics puke is "seeing things", you need to get some time in the military.  And not necessarily on the battlefield, either.  Try a week on a submarine, if you can handle a week.  That puke will be a break...  Brutal environment.

But good on ya for the changes - those are hard to make.  Break ups are hard, and committing to life changes out of them are even harder.  Keep it up!

Your content, both serious and not-so-serious, has always been a worthwhile addition to the site, IMHO. I've never understood the vitriol and bile directed your way, but that's simply a fact of life on the internet—there are always going to be haters and critics if you make yourself visible.

I hope that your come to Jesus moment includes the acceptance that you don't need to respond to every negative comment, or to actively defend yourself from knuckleheads in every instance. Trolls and haters depend on getting a rise out of the person they're attacking, and aside from very rare instances, refusing to engage them directly is the best strategy in the long run. It's not easy—it's entirely natural to want to protect your turf, so to speak—but it's just the internet.

Glad you're back, man. And it's okay that this thread is about you. You've earned it and most of us wouldn't have it any other way.

Besides, who else makes this thread? As soon as we saw it posted, we know what time it was.

Some folks like the "There Are..." threads, personally, I think they're annoying. But when I see this thread every year...I know football season is just around the corner.

I've got my college football magazine, I know everyone is enrolled, it's officially time to get excited for '17-'18.

I think its because it is a small sign that we are inching closer to the start of football season, the most magical time on Earth. Also welcome back WD. Always enjoy the info you post.

And glad to see a WD post again!

Forty-one freshmen.  That's more than a massive haul:  it's a youth movement.

As an aside, it has taken Brian over a month and a half to get through 1/3 of the 2017 recruiting posts.  He'll need to kick it up a notch.
