Edit: The Indiana Goes Down @ Home to Ohio State...We Have a Chance...Beat Purdue Thread

Submitted by B-Nut-GoBlue on

Big potential looms large tonight (for those of you on the Moon, the potential is that we still have a shot at a Big Ten Title if Indiana loses tonight and we beat them Sunday, AFTER beatin Purdue tomorrow night).  We essentially become big Ohio State fans for the second year in a row.  They can pull it off, but will they?  Tune in at 9:00 on the Big Ten Network brought to you by Rotel and "I've got your 6", and find out.  EDIT: Ignore that garbage, it's on ESPN.  Sowwy.

Iowa has Illinois at home, as we speak.  This would have been a huge game for Iowa if they hadn't lost to Nebraska last week.  Now it's merely, meh-big.  Doug Gotlieb (spelling?) now on CBS Sports, has Iowa as a Last Four In; he's the only one (except for possbily me, if they can win two BTT games).

Duke at Virginia Tech, as we speak.

Arkansas at Mizzou, as we speak (if anyone is interested in Arkansas).  Arkansas is a Bubble Team to many analysts.  This would be a big Win for them.

Ugh.  Go Buckeyes.

I don't feel the Ohio hate as much in basketball, though it's there. I'd root for  them against Sparty if we had no stake in the game.

We've been through this a billion times on the board. Everyone's got a different priority list based on where they live, who the most annoying opposing fans in their life are, and what their most traumatic sporting moments have been. For me, when it comes to basketball, I dislike MSU more than I dislike OSU. Obviously the opposite is true for football.

i will root for IU to lose, and I will root for ohio to win, but I'll be damned if I ever say...

Ugh.  Go Buckeyes.

Your words, not mine.

Josh Oglesby, the nations worst shooter statistically (at least 90 shots attempted) just hit two huge 3s against Illinois. He really is a good shooter but has gone through a tough, tough stretch of poor shooting.

Not sure if thread worthy but Chance Stewart just decommitted from Wisconsin per Steve Wiltfong twitter. FYI

hate them in football. It's not because I'm a fan of Matta, either. It's just that I came to like Sullinger and his relationship with Trey, to admire Craft's game, and to think that Thomas is a helluva player.

They really aren't the big rival in basketball. It annoys me how the commentators and media figures assume Michigan-ohio is SUCH a big rivalry across ALL sports. Just because The Game is the biggest rivalry in all sports, doesn't mean the rivalry between the schools should be grandfathered into all the sports they play. Sure there is still that edge, but basketball compared to football is night and day.

BTN tries to hype Michigan playing ohio in hockey as if it is our chief rival when that designation belongs to FYS (despite them sucking bawls). Same goes with basketball IMO. The basketball series hasn't really been competitive record-wise.

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing all of their teams go down but they aren't the team that draws my complete ire in all sports.

I'd say next to football, the Michigan-ohio game is the #1 rivalry for Baseball. But even then, they aren't even meeting ONCE this year so it can't be that valued.

Just my two cents.

What producer thought it was a good idea to do these Dan Dakich coaching clinics during timeouts. I like teaching moments but these are not good.

I will never root for Ohio State to win. Ever. There's a distinct difference between needing your rival to win versus actually wanting it to win.

That being said, if Ohio State pulls it out tonight, we'd better damn well beat Indiana. At this stage in the game, I don't want to hear about OSU getting to hang a 4th straight banner while we get nothing.

Because your's truly is dumb and didn't realize we had the good fortunes of a Dan Dakich announced game on ESPN (srsly, if you enjoy him, sarcastically if you don't).

Did we like pull a scholly or something from Dakish?  It's like he's on a one-man mission of Michigan hate lately.

Illinois is better than Michigan Dan?  Um....no.

Victor HomeDepot is B1G player of the year Dan?  Um....no.

The officiating in the Michigan-Indiana game was the "best" he'd seen all year Dan?  Um...no.

Troll on Master Troller.

Here's what the shooting has been like in Bloomington:

  FG% 3FG% FT% EFF. FG%
INDIANA 33.3% 37.5% 50.0% 38.3%
OHIO ST. 42.9% 16.7% 60.0%

44.6%

Many of the stats right now are virtually the same - Indiana has 4 offensive rebounds to the Buckeyes' 2, and Ohio State has 8 personal fouls to Indiana's five. Ohio State also has 4 blocks to Indiana's single block. Those would cover the most glaring differences in the basic box score.

I remember the first time one of my buddies tried really potent pot brownies with us. We were heading to an outdoor concert that had a lot of pyrotechnics and a laser light show.

We told him to only have half of one, but he ate two.

A few hours later mid concert with all of the lasers going off and fireworks, he was holding onto a fence at a 45 degree angle (his legs stopped working) for dear life making this face:
