Early Big Ten Bowl Thread

Northwestern kicks off in the Cotton Bowl against Texas Tech in the Ticket City Bowl of Dallas at noon.

Wildcats are +9.5. Underdogs have really come on strong against the spread over the last three days. I'm not sure what to expect with NU's backup, but I'm sure we'll get a solid dose of TOUGHNESS and GRIT.

Red Raiders are lead by Tommy Tuberville who is ditching the air raid for a coach from Wisconsin. Don't know what to expect from them either.

Game is on ESPNU.

Florida(-5)/Penn State, MSU/Alabama(-7) start at one.

Not that I would watch NU/TTU game after 12:59, but it'd be nice to at least have it on ESPN3.

Unrelated, but I thought 'Bama was chalk by 10 point?

Everyone is betting the Big 10 today

Last night the lines were NW +9, MSU +10, PSU +7 and MICH +5

Today the lines are NW +7 (closed), MSU +8, PSU +6 and MICH +3 (!)

Some coke dealer in Big 10 country must a gone nuts

(thats a line from Let It Ride, btw)

After this season I will never ever take FG kicking for granted. I shouldve taken NW when I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago, the line was +10 back then.

Watkins just isn't ready to be playing QB on the top level yet. NU is way too one dimensional for them to challenge. It would take some epic Taylor Potts 2010-style for Tech to truly blow this.

The TicketCity Bowl should be banned from New Years Day.  NW had 1 player, and he's in street clothes.  The QB can't play.  And Spielman is explaining how the Dline should watch the ball to avoid jumping offsides.  TT is no surprise either.  I wouldn't be too bummed if you can't watch it.  We're counting the seconds until we can turn the channel, and this game definitively won't be on Picture-in-Picture.

Big uphill battle for this Northwestern team. They have impressed me with their perseverance to this point in the game. Hopefully that missed extra point won't come back to haunt them.
