I agree with this 100%. They defintiely have a shot to be the best in school history. No pressure.

I'm not calling it, but the talent and coaching will be on another level. Toss in that teams pass more now than ever, even if we do play some MANBALL. The winner is going to be best special.

There's nothing that would surprise me by the winner of that battle. Heisman, #1 pick, Andrew Luck status.

Whoever it is will be REALLY good.

I'm very interested to see where Peters falls on the depth chart this year. There was some noise that he would've been ahead of Morris on the depth chart as the #3 if he didn't redshirt.

You could end up with Rudock being the start of a long, long streak of Michigan-to-NFL quarterbacks to rival that string of Grbac-Collins-Driesbach (yes, he played for the Raiders)-Griese-Brady-Henson (if he hadn't forefeited by heading to NYY)--Navarre-Henne.

Hard not to be geeked about this team's future with all the weapons he and Peters will have. Worry a little about their blind side, but JH will get that figured out. Wilson wasn't the only (big, big) fish in the OT sea.

Phil Simms finally said something coherent during a telecast when gave a shut out to the McCaffery family including Dylan coming to Michigan.  Was waiting for Nance to ask Simms what state the University of Michigan is located in?

Can he graduate this year and transfer someplace to be a starter? As far as the future beyond 2017, it will be tough for Peters to dislodge Speight given his advancements and Harbaugh's comments. And I doubt Speight is a 1st rounder, so he may stay at UM through the 2018 season for a 5th year. Then in 2019 Peters and McCaffrey battle for the position ... redshirt junior vs redshirt sophomore. That competition will be very intense. Team should be at a peak, recruit wise, and a CFP contender. Future is very bright.

Not to get greedy, but let's say that projection happens as predicted. If it's razor close and both are major QB type talents, does the loser stick around? Or do they transfer for playing time? I suppose if Peters won, McCaffrey could stay and start for one year or so, but not if Dylan won. Do power schools crank out world beating QBs who only start for one year because there's another world beating QB a year ahead of them? I guess my question is more about roster management. It's one thing to have two or three awesome RBs or LBs on your squad side you can play multiple or rotate a lot. Not so much with QBs. How does a school develop them and keep them happy/around?

The details are fuzzy to me, but didn't Pete Carrol's USC juggernaut put a career backup into the League? Not that it's likely to happen, but there is a precedent for it. It's much more likely, given Harbaugh's QB recruiting so far, that we'll see talent transfer out to greener pastures. Which is fine, too. Ultra talented quarterbacks coming to Michigan isn't a pipeline that is going to dry up any time soon.
