No.  I just personally think he is a tool in regards to his commentary, and can't stand him.

I actually think that given Shane's on-field performance, he (Dilfer) was proven right in regards to lowballing Shane in the overall Elite 11 standings.

Did you see his color commentary on the broadcast of the 49ers season opener last year?  He was absolutely gushing over the SF owners/mgt and kept saying they were going to be letting out the Ferrari (Kaep) this year.  Basically implying that Harbaugh was limiting Kaep and making him a Camry, and that he was the problem the year before.

Yeah, Dilfer is in tight with Jed York and the 49ers front office. He was involved in presenting York's narrative in the media in order to undermine Harbaugh. He's a dick, but his dickishness indirectly led to us getting JH, so I'm conflicted.

I gotta say I was actually pretty impressed with Dilfer Saturday albeit a small sample size. He was definitely in charge of everything on the field, was managing the drills well, joking/laughing it up to keep the kids loose. And when he came over to the stands to address the parents he was very professional and really did a great job of explaining things and answering questions.

I have to say I have a newfound respect for the guy as I thought he was pretty much a baffoon prior to that.

Look at what people aren't saying about McCaffrey.  There is no one praising his throws, many of the articles from recruiting sites that only saw the throwing portion barely mentioned him.  McCaffrey is a high upside recruit who still needs a lot of work to learn the position but has sky high potential.

It's even more impressive that he makes it to the opening considering the other guys have a lot more time playing QB, or private coaches or only play football instead of other sports.  And that is exactly what Harbaugh wants, a QB who still has a lot of growth potential who he can work with.

I'm liking this wonderful situation, in which I don't know which of our massively talented QBs we need to pan out over the next 5 years. Any one will do. I don't know which I like better: a QB who can deliver a perfect deep pass, or a QB who can run from the spread. Still sore about Devin Gardner: he could have been both...

Agreed. This is how success breeds success. Teams do well during the season so top recruits want to go there. Stack the roster with top talent kids and also instill an ethos of performance over seniority and it prevents starters from slacking off. That plus the stacked roster ensures that if one kid gets injured or transfers or switches positions, you've always got a very talented player to replace them and that if there is a slight drop off in performance, it isn't a HUGE drop off and will likely again reach peak once the kid gets a certain number of starts under his belt. Shark teeth baby, shark teeth.

Wasn't that the Elite 11 qualifying rounds, to narrow down the field to the actual Elite 11 that would participate at the Opening in Oregon?  And shouldn't they change the name to Elite 12 now?

I was in a boat Saturday with a huge Hawkeye fan. He brought up how Iowa got scorched by the elder McCaffrey in the bowl game but that the younger McCaffrey was even better. Which I followed up with, And he's coming to Michigan. The Hawk fan said that he loved Harbaugh in the pros but he hates him now. He said, he's too good. It was a happy moment.

It was my understanding that becuase they run with 6 teams during the 7 v 7 portion of The Opening it made sense to bring 12 from the E11 so each team had 2 QBs.  Am I missing something?

Wherever Dilfer went to school, it's obvious he is biased towards Michigan. He probably treats the Wolverine committs like shit. If any of you cant see that you're a MORON. He's an envious little dweeb who shouldn't even be doing the elite 11. How is he even on tv? The guy sucked pretty much all of his career. Of all the past awesome qb's to play in the pro's and I get to watch dipshit Dilfer tell the world that UM recruits aren't anything special year after year. Fuck that shit.
