Don't sell your hockey tickets!

Submitted by CleverMichigan… on

Whoever sold their tickets to the jerks who took front row seats from season ticket holders in the student section (who attend every game religiously in section 18), thanks for killing the Swedish flag, as the seat-stealers accused us of drinking under it and ratted us out to the ushers. All this because we expressed discontent over having our hard-earned front row seats stolen by high school kids and their older sister who didn't even know the "Goalie-Sieve" chant for Temptation.

The ushers watched us the rest of the game, demanded we hand over the alleged alcohol, didn't let us lift the flag again and even called in DPS to watch us.

Thanks.

High schoolers. I was wondering where the Swedish flag went, that's a pretty horrible reason for it. Not that the ushers helped much, some the ushers are really cool, but it seems like Yost student section gets a disproportionate amount of crotchety ones >:o

And on senior night too. Imagine if Carl had been a senior this year...

dope dealer, Lance: "They should be fucking killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution."

OK, that's a bit harsh. But I just saw Pulp Fiction for the 200th time.

So that's what happened? I was wondering why someone kept running up and down the stands past me and why Event Staff kept coming over there. That's just pathetic.

i was ready to bust out my legal experience and ask to see a warrant to search me. unfortunately the extra attention caused me to have to deep six the shoe i was gonna throw during the intermission, which may or may not have also had a bottle of rum in it. my memory fades. i did leave with my flask full too.... i think. wait.... what?

I can't believe Yost is becoming so user-unfriendly that you can't wave a flag. I really miss the 70's, when you could pretty much do what you wanted as long as nobody got hurt.

I'm pretty sure she's a student here because I've seen her at games before, but WTF was her problem with the flag? Go sit somewhere else if you don't want to be part of the atmosphere. And to rat people out? Well you know what they say about snitches...

People drink at hockey games?

Tonight, I had an usher "jokingly" threaten to throw me out for the "See Ya" chant ... just "busting my balls" though. Not funny.

No matter. That was one hell of a game for my last as a student at Yost. Cheers to the seniors!

i have seen him throw out more students that you can think of. and the bastard laughs to his buddy yellow jackets about it as if he is proud of it.

and his buddy running my section, south end zone, is a mental midget.

I was wondering why DPS was crawling around the student section tonight.

So were said high school kiddies legally occupying said seats? If they just got there first and took the row, and then they go and raise a fuss over the Swedish flag, then I'd say that's grounds for making them check the tickets.

one was afore mentioned bitchy girls younger brother whose ticket was decidedly not front row and decidedly not our section. we didn't put the flag up because we knew as soon as we did staff were gonna swarm us. we decided to test the waters and picked it up and barely had it unfurled when 3 ushers came over and demanded we cough up the alleged beverages. we showed our empty pockets and they gave us some BS about seeing us before (impossible we had a damn flag covering us). we were still getting looks singing the alma mater after the seniors lap.

I was way up in Section 18, but I did kinda notice the flag wasn't up as often as usual. I assumed it was just because Hagelin wasn't really a part of the last two goals.

It reminds me of my seats last football season. The people in the row in front of me would show up halfway through the first quarter (or later) and demand people make room for them, because they were their seats. IMO, you give up rights to your seats in the student section at kickoff, if not when the band comes out. Anyway, they did that every game. And the one girl was just hanging on her boyfriend the whole time (he had an earring, FWIW) and the other one was texting THE WHOLE GAME. I'm surprised I never got enough liquid courage any of the Saturdays to tell them off. I should have.

Yeah, I'm still bitter about them. I'm done now.

Props to Charlie Weis showing up again tonight, which im guessing is one of you because he also owns the flag. As for the girl who was complaining she is there most of the time but its busch league not to hold up the Swedish flag, have some pride, man( i mean woman).

This is another example of why I think all sporting events should have specialized seating areas. One area for people who like to stand. Another area for people who really get into the game, another for those that are just there because, etc.

My favorite part of the entire thing was when she would push the flag away from her 8th grade brother and there would be about 10 kids that would grab the flag and throw it back over him...he started to get into it but then she gave him the death stare. but i have seen her before...which makes it more retarded because she has seen it before.

and you are in the front row at yost, have some pride
