Who said Red berenson doesn't coach: Tonight's game was a clinic in positioning, defense, and forechecking. Northern had chances (everybody does), but UM played probably the most disciplined and controlled game they have played in a long time. This one was totally on coaching, and Red hammered Northern. It was like watching old Russian teams that were never out of position and their forwards played defense first, offense second, and the counterpunching was most excellent. It's kind of a shame the NCAA hockey tournament takes fourteen months to complete-because UM is hot--and they are playing tight. Things like this can be lost as the tourney drags out.

I'm really surprised by the speed this team has. Vanbiesbrouk mentioned that fact several times during both games this weekend. OT - Beezer is from Detroit and went unclaimed in the Midget draft. So, his Dad drove him up to The Soo for a tryout with the (OHL) Greyhounds. He made the team and went on to the NHL.
