Diag Vandalized by sparty

Submitted by Clancy's Hands on October 18th, 2018 at 12:45 PM

SIAP. Just read that the block M on the Diag was tagged to read Msu on Sunday. Does anyone know why students are no longer protecting the Diag 24/7 in the week leading up to the sparty game? I was already disappointed with our students for their continuing late arrival at games regardless of kickoff time, and now this........

The vandalism is bad enough to begin with, but what's worse is they used a stupid spray can font instead of a dignified Times Roman.

Why waste paint on another M?  Just add the S and U.

Also, and I've felt this forever, it's shitty to spray-paint something on a campus because it's not a student who'll have to clean it; it'll be some staff member who has to stand in 40-degree weather and wipe off some shitty paint job.

As stated above, my fraternity (Theta Xi - although I am WELL removed from school) is the one that guards the diag.  They are not allowed by UM to set up until the Sunday before the game, so hence why this happened Saturday night.

What we need next time around is a group of 40-something and 50-something alums protecting the Diag. Can you imagine the nonstop party that would need to end by 11 PM because all of us needed to go to work the next day? I volunteer.

Freshman year Friday night before the MSU game in AA I along with several other cluelesses was assigned to guard Hill Auditorium against possible attack by Spartan hordes. The attack never came and next day M lost the game. All for naught.
