Child pornography ring is being investigated on a federal level, with Sandusky and other people "affiliated with Penn State" (no specifics yet) at the center of it.

EDIT: Update from the article- Both the FBI and a criminal investigative division of the United States Postal Service are looking into the possible existence of a pedophile ring that involved Sandusky sharing boys with other men connected to Penn State. Sandusky was recently convicted on 45 counts of child sexual abuse. "Investigators have interviewed at least one man who claims to have knowledge of Sandusky and a very prominent man, with strong ties to Penn State, both sexually abusing a boy," a source familiar with the situation told RadarOnline.com.

Be prepared this will only get worse. It's time to bring in their replacement. (I mean what we know will get worse, obviously an end to the atrocities is better)

This is interesting...

On Nov. 11, 2011 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania radio talk show host Mark Madden dropped a bombshell during an appearance on Boston’s WEEI when he told radio talk show hosts John Dennis and Gerry Callahan, “I hear there’s a rumor that there will be a more shocking development from the The Second Mile (TSM)—and hold on to your stomachs, boys, this is gross—that Jerry Sandusky and the Second Mile were pimping out young boys to rich donors.”

Now, further evidence that Jerry Sandusky’s TSM was being used to traffic underage boys to wealthy donors took a major step forward via a July 19 interview with Greg Bucceroni, currently employed as a school police officer in the Philadelphia, Pa. school district while also volunteering with the District Attorney’s office.

Bucceroni told this reporter, “In 1979 and 1980—when I was 13 and 14 years old—a well-connected pedophile named Edward Savitz took me on trips from Philadelphia to TSM fundraisers. I knew the minute I got there it was a breeding ground because of Savitz’s involvement. While [Jerry] Sandusky interacted with wealthy donors, the other men were sizing-up kids. I felt like a cheap whore because I was in these naked pictures that Savitz was passing around.”

When asked how certain he was in regard to these claims, Bucceroni replied, “I’m sure of it. Savitz talked about taking kids from Philly to TSM and introducing them to men—soliciting them to ‘his friends.’ They exchanged and swapped kids like baseball cards. It was a feeding frenzy. I felt like a prostitute or a go-go dancer at a bachelor party. I felt dirty, used and cheap.”

Fuck this institution. They have to get out of the B1G. Now. This is something Delaney can't pussyfoot around with. The longer they are here, the worse off it is for the rest of the conference. At this point, I don't care about collateral damage. This is beyond academics and athletics. That place needs to be reduced to rubble.

As of right now this deals with a football coach & a few up and ups protecting him (as of this moment). Kicking PSU out of the BiG would punish dozens of other sports & research departments who did nothing wrong.

If they want to kick PSU football out, go right ahead, but don't punish those in the other sports/parts of the university who are already facing a tough road for crimes they didn't committ.

That being said: Nuke their football program

I heard something like this mentioned exactly one time right when the original accusations were flying, but then never heard another thing. I hoped it was an embellishment and totally not true. I still hope that.

if Penn St doesnt like the way the NCAA does things, they can leave the NCAA.  If the NCAA is an organization, if an organization as a whole doesn't like the one one of its members is acting, usually they reprimand that member.  Its really quite simple.

edit: damn, i hit log in instead of reply and then forgot to hit reply after i logged in so where my comment ended up doesnt make any sense

When this PSU thing first broke I gave JoePa the benefit of the doubt.   I always had an image of him as someone who did things the right way, graduated players, didn't pay the players and coached at PSU because he loved his team and his school.  When I went to a game at PSU the white out was awesome.  Much more intimidating that playing at the Big House (at least before we fixed the acoustics).   The fans at PSU were awesome too.  Everyone we talked to there knew all about football and offered us beer (we were late-30's at the time) and wished us good luck on the game. Those fans thought that JoePa was a good guy too.  They had no way of knowing what was going on.

How does Michigan avoid becoming a PSU, OSU or even an SMU?  I think Hoke, Mattison and Borges are men of integrity, but you never know when a Chris Weber is going to take money, or some assistant coach is going to do something wrong.    I don't ever want to have to say that I love Michigan, except for that whole pedophillia ring, or the kids who's scholarships we pulled, or the players we were paying, etc.  What can you do beyond big brotheresque surveillance?
