Money Molk Quote:

He's certain of one thing, though: He has doubters.

And he knows exactly where they can go.

"It's just, stuff like that pisses me off," Molk said, voice rising. "Any scout who denies me pisses me off. 'Oh, this is what you got. You’re not good enough.'

"Well, (to hell with) you, let me show you what I got."

The Sugar Bowl story about his mother and his past antics with the press I'll miss him the most next season. Good news is he's a Michigan Legend already and the bar has been set for future M centers.

I will also miss his straightforward replies to the press. Molk is easily one of my favorite Wolverines and it is going to be tough now seeing him out there on Saturday afternoons.

Of all of the players that did press interviews with any regularity Molk was by far my favorite to watch. You could tell that he hated the press and he came out and said as much on more than one occasion. Yet despite his distaste he was always very well spoken and seemed to convey the type of intelligent leadership that is crucial on the offensive line. I also loved hearing him talk about coach Hoke this year.

I freaked out on the very first play of the Sugar Bowl when he was not in at center. Such bad timing and to be injured during pregame is just so flukey (is that right?). He already has an uphill battle for the NFL because of his size and this is just going to make the people in the NFL more concerned. Some team is going to get a steal on him fairly late in the draft.

I bet he didn't say "to hell with" you. I bet he used the naughty eff word that refers to fornication. Shame, shame, shame...

I respect players that don't pander to the media. If someone doesn't want to be bothered, don't bother them.

Hey, since you're still pretty new around here, a little bit of advice: don't freak when one of your posts gets "negged." Two reasons: 1) It doesn't matter. It has absolutely zero affect on your points, and 2) It makes you look bad when you complain about it.

of all time. I hope know he just absolutely kills it when he gets his chance. It was always a pleasure to watch his interviews, and the way he handled the media.

I wish I could find another example of a center his size who won the Rimington Trophy, was an All-American and played a decade or so in the NFL.

Is he will impress at the combine. He's going to be "small", and he may not be able to do the drills with his foot injury, but when it comes time to do that bench press he and Martin are going to come close to the record - don't underestimate how much stock the scouts will put in that. His height/weight will be a detriment, but his bench could get him back to "let's look at his tape" as opposed to "he's too small".

Playing with the injury he did and the amount of tape of him pulling should be enough for a team to take a flyer on him. Should be interesting to see where he goes.

That an agent is dictating who should perform his surgery. The UM Orthopaedic Surgery Department is top-notch, particularly in sports. Some dipshit agent with no medical background should not be making those decisions. Maybe there was a legit reason but I don't really see one.

are personally associated with, whose well-being is the source of your income, and provide the names of their surgeons. He may be an agent, but calling him a dipshit says a lot more about you than it does the agent.

Your response says a lot about your reading comprehension and cluelessness. I know 4 current or former NFL team surgeons and several team physicians of Div 1 schools, including UM, and have worked with all of them on some level. So I probably have more insight than most.
My point was that agents have no medical background or training on which to form an accurate opinion. Regardless of their intentions, I feel it is reckless for them to sway an athlete's decision either way. Suggesting a second opinion is different than saying "go here." Their vested interest may push them towards a surgeon who tells them what they want to hear. How the fuck is an agent qualified to judge one surgeon over another?
Molk has been cared for at UM for years. Also, an agents best interest isn't always in the athlete's best interest.
Just to point out, I even qualified my statement at the end by saying there may be a legit reason.
But by virtue of not knowing his limitations, the agent is a probably a dipshit. Like you.

He'll be given a shot in the NFL I expect him to succeed - he's just too good not to. Yeah, he's a little small, but a center with his agility and strength will find a home with an innovative coach who wants to use him in the run game and can protect him a bit on passing down. Yeah, he won't plow over guys, but he's a smart player who will make an offense better.
