It sounded like he was leaning there anyway, and probably would have done this even if not for the Bunting commit today.  It's possible that this pushed him a little though.

Yeah, he might have thought that.  Or he could have seen Bunting commit here and thought "wow you never know when a spot will fill up so I better grab the one I want before that one does."

Michigan and Tennessee were his clear leaders, and each told him they had one remaining spot for a TE. He may have been leaning toward Tennessee anyway, but the Bunting committment pretty much clarified Helm's situation.

Good luck to the kid.

It's one thing for SEC schools to take the top Southern talent, but it's another for them to be taking the Midwestern talent too.  Guys like Helm picking UT and not Illinois or WIsconsin or Iowa or MSU are a big part of why their league is blowing our away.

Like Treadwell, who chose Ole Miss for their academics, Kozan and Diamond picked Auburn for their great engineering program and Ingram to Alabama for their great dorm food.

I think the greater point is that any large university campus is going to have its share of hot women.  The only thing that may vary is the proportion of the female population that's hot from institution to institution.  But the relative proportion of attractive women is really only relevant to average Joe's in terms of increasing their chances of "making it" with someone out of their league.

Football players, on the other hand, would seem to have their "pick of the litter" due to their status on campus, and therefore, it is illogical that they would use the relative proportion of hot women on campus as a factor in college choice.

so now I think we only take Bunting as a TE- with the small class and abundance of TE we now have, should be all set for the next couple of years.  Exciting time to be a Michigan fan!

So I was learning Helm based on recent reports and the fact he had 44 catches for 810 yards and 17 TDs his junior year.

That got me excited before I realized Buntings highlights came in a total of four games, the first four no less.

So, yeah, HS stats are pretty meaningless without context but wow.  I imagine Bunting's ceiling is sky high with a limited resume.  He easily will rise in the rankings even if he just matches his per game junior stats.

For some reason, I think this kid is going to be something special....5.1 GPA to boot!

probably helped tremendously with Helm. Not to say that Michigan doesn't have religious kids or feel, but it's certainly not a southern school in the Bible Belt.

Think he was UT anyway. Glad we got Bunting as I was pretty even on all of them. Yet, Bunting was a bit of a shock and Helm was going UT anyway so I'm cool with Bunting, lol
