First off let me say I've never been in favor of switching Drob to a different primary position so far. I am not in favor of it until we have 1 or 2 other viable options at qb behind Tate.
I HAVE wanted him more involved, but not from the starting QB position. I just don't think he offers us enough unpredictable versatility on offense. I also have thought Tate needs every snap he can get to help prepare him for the future and thicken his skin after he makes mistakes.
HOWEVER, in watching the Ole Miss LSU game, I just couldn't help but see flashes of future DROB when I saw Dexter McCluster at RB for Ole Miss. I can't necessarily explain why. I can't even say that I agree with these visions I was having. I was just having them so I'm seeing if anyone else knows what I'm talking about.
I think McCluster used to be a WR, and was moved to RB and it has proved quite effective. I'm not saying this means Drob would be an effective RB if moved there from QB. I am saying it is an interesting proposition and more than anything i'm looking for your opinions on the matter.
Maybe Devin doesn't red shirt, takes Denard's place as a mixup to Tate, and Denard starts mixing in with Vsmith and Shaw at RB?
Once again, I don't even know if I like this, but for some reason I couldn't stop thinking about it so I decided to get the MGoCommunity's opinion.
Oh, "desmondkillsherbie" or whatever your name is... Don't feel like you need to post anything stupid in response to my asking for your response. In fact, feel you should definitely not post anything stupid in response to me asking for your response. Everyone else... thanks in advance!
